His vulnerability & once in a life time wordplay will always make him one of the most slept on & underrated rappers of our generation bc our generation doesn’t feel comfortable comfronting their own issues & continue to numb them with pain pills, adderall, liquor, they don’t want to hear about how to treat a woman right or how to be a real man. & be honest about the fucked up things you’ve done, but are working on yourself consistently. That’s lame until you hit 25-27 then realize life isn’t a future song & this man is a poet. Boogie will forever be my favorite & you can argue sales but in my mind. He’s top 5 dead or alive if we’re talking rap music & the culture. His way with words is unlike any other. If he was from the 90’s it would be wild but unfortunately he’s in the most watered down era of hip hop we’ve ever seen & just like the downfall of all great music, classic rock, classic, real country , southern blues. It has been saturated & personality & fame/clout win over artistry.
