Hi Oceana!! I must love to collect books. I have about 2,500 physical books in my library. I typically remove read books and keep ones I know I want to revisit, but in a different location. I’ve wanted my walls to be bookshelves. I’d much rather be surrounded by books. It does get overwhelming sometimes, but then I remember what a blessing it is to have so many options. My local library is not well stocked and the nearest bookstore is 2+ hours away. I sort by author and genre. I tried rainbow organization, but then I couldn’t find anything. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I love having lots of books as long as I love them all. If I don’t they go, haha. 😂 And I keep my read and unread books separate as I just prefer doing it that way. Love your shelves, by the way!

I have a TBR cart but also mix in books I’ve read with books I haven’t read. So far I can keep up with it but maybe after a few years it may get confusing lol. I don’t like having so many books when my shelves fill up that I’m out of room on the shelves so I’m constantly moving things around. I do have quite a few that don’t fit on my shelf but working through them.

We the same girl I shuffle books out of my shelves every month! I generally think Would I re read this? Did this book give me joy? And I keep or get rid of it. I unhauled where the blue sky begins too. I liked it but won’t re read it kinda thing.

That was a fun video Oceana! 😊 I actually just reorganized some of my bookshelves. How I organize them depends on my mood and what I’ve tried before. Right now I moved my TBR books out to my front shelves and moved my read books into my room. The books I’ve read I like to keep next to their series and other books by the same author. My TBR is like yours and colorized. I just think books look pretty in a rainbow. I have a giant TBR but most of it is authors I’ve read and liked and some were just interesting books that were really cheap. Also if a book is part of a series, I want the whole series, even if I wasn’t a big fan of one of the books I like to have the full series.

Cool bookshelves. Do you prefer the shorter bookshelves over the taller ones? My bookshelves are broken out by reading status: Read, Pile of Possibility, and To Read. Read and Pile are on 2 shelves and the To Read are....on the floor. Read is grouped by authors and then by genres which makes it easy to find things for me though. Most of the spines are black for me...never noticed that before. I try to keep books that I would suggest or lend out to other or if I have a quote I pull from it often.

Great video-I need to get my shelves organized. I have a hard time letting books go. I have about 1800+ books and they are not set up in any type of order. That is a goal of mine for this year. I do purge if I have read it and I have given it a low rating. I love books!!❤❤

I just paused Scribd for the next 12 weeks (or less if I can't hold out that long) and will hopefully be reading more books from my TBR shelves. Mine are in 2 different places and don't look pretty. I don't keep fiction I've read unless it's a top favorite of all time. NGL, I will probably still read mostly ebooks because I have a lot on NetGalley and the library has a lot and I just bought Carla Laureano's newest one because it was $6 on Kindle. But I'm going to try to read more physical books, and plan to do that when I go to the beach next month and when I am away.

I'm a librarian and just can't bring myself to shelve things any other way than by author last name. I also don't really have many books … I purged my collection a few years ago, and I only kept ones I truly think I might someday re-read. I have pretty much stopped buying books... It has to be really special for me to want to buy it. I've just decided it's a lot nicer getting them for free through the library (work) and then I also don't have to dust them, LOL

I really enjoyed the Irene Hannon books (Dangerous Illusions was better imo) they are both in trilogies. Sorry haven't commented in a bit. My dad had cancer surgery so I've been helping take care of him.

I only have one bookshelf so I only keep my faves or signed books.
