Outstanding review Grasping the hierachy of the government ,geographical areas and departments was a lot for me but you simplified it. You’ve also highlighted there are so many levels to this book, no wonder it has such a high reputation. SPOILER ALERT** Speaking about Winston & Julia, when people spoke about this sci fi novel, did you expect it to have romance in it? It was high calibre! Them having to hide their love from society and big brother made it so special. They planned in advance when to see each other and dreamed of a future together, but in fact this never got lived out because they were found out and manipulated and tortured.Their love was even used against them during the torturing process which made it even more painful to read.Then to see each other in the outside world and not attempt at talking each other was all a result of both of them having been completely wiped mentally and physically, the pain and suffering they endured was so much they couldn’t comprehend giving their love another chance. BIG BROTHER had divided their souls..
@@gregupton90 thank you! I’m glad you liked my review. I also did not expect the romance. It surprised me and kept me guessing. I didn’t know if we could trust Julia or not. It made me fearful of their love and for their love. It was such a great read!
