Hello friends! My name Elisabetta Furcht, an Italian watercolour artist who never gets tired of learning and experimenting.
I'm a self taught artist, and today I'm reviewing a book for watercolour beginners, that helped me a lot when I started my watercolour journey: "The Joy of Watercolor" by Emma Block.
This book is not only full of delightful illustrations, a real joy for the eyes, but it's also packed with detailed projects for artists of all levels, from absolute beginners to more advanced ones.
Today I'm not only browsing the book for you, but I'm also demonstrating a project drawn from the book.
Have you read this book yourself? and what do you think about it? Are you curious to try it? Are there books that you recommend? Let me know in the comments!
This is the Amazon link to the book (it's an affiliated link).

I buy my art materials (including paints in my curated palette that I'm using in this video) from Momarte, my favourite online art store, at www.momarte.com/?aff=44
They are super helpful and kind, and ship internationally.

I am also a Skillshare teacher with over 15 watercolor classes, especially suited for beginners or intermediate students. My link will give 1 month free trial: www.skillshare.com/r/user/eli...

Dear Jackie, art books are wonderful! ❤️do you use soft or oil pastels? I like them both but soft pastels are a bit messy for me. I wish you a great week and thank you for your comment!

Book review! Great job, I like how you took the time to walk through the different sections of the book and explain how there are projects for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels. Also your painting demonstration was spot on. I love art book reviews (I have a couple planned for my channel coming up). What palette are you using? It looks very unique! Ciao from USA :)

Thank you Morrison! Very glad about your comment. The palette is a very pretty one . I got it from Upcrate (a German based company), the brand is Artspaze, and I got it in an art mystery box I used to subscribe. I am looking forward to seeing your book reviews!

Was that watercolor used out of the bottle to paint the gray looking flowers?

Hi!! It’s masking fluid!! It forms a plastic film to save the white of the paper.
