Hi Roisin! By complete coincidence, this book just arrived in the mail a day before you uploaded this video. I had not had a good look at it so I grabbed it and flicked through it along with your video! What a privilege to get the author guiding you through the book! (I also received in the same delivery your beautiful hard cover Dublin book, how inspiring!). I have a 2021 reprint of Drawing Expressive People and noticed it is different from the one you showed us in that the paper is slightly blue-ish (I think I like the white paper better) and there is no elastic around the cover (which I do not mind). Thanks so much for the video.
Yes the reprint was a huge shock to me Amanda - but my brother (in the book!) who works in publishing said it’s totally normal for the second edition to be published to a “different” (i.e. worse!) standard than the first. Thanks for your lovely words, so kind of you to share with me, you never know how something goes down! Enjoy it!
Just bought the Kindle version... then looked up your RU-vid channel.... looking forward to practising. I was drawn to the idea of 'expressive' drawing, and capturing body language...
Received my book from Amazon. It’s full of useful information on drawing your subjects and how to adapt to situations that happen and how to deal with them. I especially liked the suggestions of easier less moving subjects making it a bit easier to capture them and sketching your subjects first, then the surroundings. Wonderful drawing examples. I highly recommend it!
