I’ve been building my fall TBR, and I do it by season as well, a month is just too much constraint for me! I am reading The Hero of Ages right now then am going to The Way of Kings. I also just got Long Live Evil that looks really fun! I hope you enjoy One Dark Window and Apprentice to the Villain, they’re two of my favorites! Happy start to fall, my favorite season! 🎃🍂👻🕯

I was just at this location yesterday! My fiancé and I don’t live anywhere near there, but it’s one of our top favorites to go and hang out for a while. We usually will go at least once a month. The rest of the time we go closer-ish to home. What you said about cozy fantasy romance and cozy mysteries sounds exactly like how I feel. I don’t seem to really enjoy just no/low-stakes fantasy. I have to be invested in something dramatic happening.

Adrian Tchaikovsky is an awesome writer. I would say he’s the British Brandon Sanderson. Writes a ton, easy fast paced writer and has some fun Easter eggs. His Shadow of the Apt is my favorite series of his.

I have a lot if random books on my tbr but the book I MUST finish by the end of the year of Assassins Quest by Robin Hobb. I’ve set the goal to read one of her trilogies every year since her series is so highly regarded. Good luck on your fall tbr!!

Hi Olivia! I hope you have a great reading season this fall! I picked up Days at the Morisaki Bookshop from my library, it's the perfect vibe for autumn. The books I most want to read are some of my horror books. I have a British Library collection on ghosts, a few Stephen King's that I've been too intimidated to open, and Sign Here which is taking me an age to finish. My copy of Private Rites by Julia Armfield arrived last week and I'm itching to start it!

I just finished Assistant to the Villain last night and you hit the nail right on the head when you said the humour is very British. I’m British and it was the best, funniest, most cleverly crafted YA book I’ve read in months. Eeek I can’t wait to jump into Zodiac Academy now and get all my students reading this term. 🍁🍂🥮

I've had a nuanced experience with Brandon Sanderson, so I wasn't sure about reading Stormlight, but with the new one coming out I have fomo so I think I'll give in and get me The Way of Kings soon 👀 I don't have any specific books I'm looking forward to this autumn, just really excited to be back for the Magical readathon ✨️ 🍁☕️🍂

I've been stalled out on oathbringer since December, but I've made a little progress recently. I'm on Part 3 of Oathbringer and then I have Dawnshard, Rhythm of War, Yumi & the Nightmare Painter and The Sunlit Man that I want to read before Wind & Truth comes out. I'm trying to figure out a way of getting through it faster, I think I've hit on a way. Those plans or recently drailed because I spent the last week or so in Tortall (interconnected series by Tamora Pierce).

I am building a mood reader friendly tbr. I want some of everything; Dark Academia, thriller, fantasy and light horror. So um my ocd took over and I made a calendar to plan out my books lol I can read the books whenever but it forced me to be realistic of what I CAN read. a few planned include: September House, Malice (Gwynne), I Who Have Never Known Men, various T. Kingfisher, Everyone on This Train is a Suspect, Dark and Drowning Tide, Academy for Liars, Will of the Many, and Open Throat (thanks Jan).

I do want to catch up for the Wind and truth release but at the same time I don't want to 'spend' all main books of the Cosmere books just this year. I've read Mistborn Era I and I have Rhythm of War left from Stormlight but I'm thinking of leaving Mistborn Era II for next year 🤔 We will see because I've been reading one Brandon book every month since April and I'm scared of withdrawals 😂

I’m halfway through Words of Radiance, and I do want to catch up with The Way of Kings series before Winds of Truth comes out. I won’t be completely caught up with all of the books in the Cosmere, but I’m not worried about that. I’ll go hunting for Easter eggs later. 🍁 🍂🎃

Currently doing a re-read of Governor by David Weber & Richard Fox because it came out 3 years ago and #2 comes out next week (I don't remember everything)(and why'd it take so freaking long?). My Sept is busy but I'm looking forward to new releases: Passion in Death by J.D. Robb (#59); Murder at King's Cross by Andrea Penrose (#8); A Gentleman of Unreliable Honor by Grace Burrows (#6); Rebel by David Weber & Richard Fox (#2). I've got a Netgalley Arc - Betrayal at Blackthorn Park by Julia Kelly (#2). For my Spy vs Spy Readathon, I've got on board (for now): Triple Cross by Tom Bradby (#3); City Spies: City of the Dead by James Ponti (#4); The Spy Coast by Tess Gerritsen (#1); and the aforementioned Julia Kelly - so maybe one a week? And a group's scavenger hunt pick with the prompt "did I read that?" which I'm interpreting as doing a re-telling and I'm thinking of doing I, Iago by Nicole Galland - but we'll see in a couple weeks.

I will try to reread Rhytmn of War, but not promising, I do need to read Sunlit Man because I've heard of cosmere ties that I would have been spoiled about without catching up and I have heard it's helpful to know for the 5th book.

🍂🍁 I really want to read Mistborn but I’m super intimidated by all of Sanderson’s adult fantasy. I own Skyward and Steelheart, and I want to try those first to get used to his writing. Are his ya books worth it or should I just say screw it and dive into Mistborn?? 😅😂
