We take a look at historical atlases. An atlas is a book full of maps, and historical atlases show previous landscapes, migrations, army movements, resources, and other data.
The publishers DK, HarperCollins, and DK have made wonderful resources on world history, civilization, archaeology, American history, and other topics.
These books provide great resources for prehistoric, bronze age, iron age, classical civilization, and American history.

From Canada! Found your channel from looking into fur trade history, reading Hudson's bay company journals online. Smattering of archeological papers of precontact great lakes sites. I'm really enjoying your early colonial videos.

Thank you! You have a beautiful country. I was born in Michigan, so I am a Great Lakes person at heart, too.

What very cool is older graveyards that are all over an area, many by RR- tracks. When area was new. There was just a small road! Follow the water and the RR-tracks. These are the very first roads! Old Hempstead Rd. When that graveyard was established, it was considered way out there. Before the road it was a path for wagons.

Great! most cities the first roads uses are by the water, this can go back 1000 years. Houston and Louisiana! What's cool is a brick fence post going back over 200 years or a home. Many streets call market roads.

As someone who is just discovering an interest in History, This is a fantastic video. I know there are tons of books on world history and that is the problem. There are tons of books. No one has time to read all of them. So having someone tell me what can be learned in a few of them helps me narrow down the books that interest me. Using the internet is fine, but it just does not give the information I am looking for. Thank for sharing.

Thank you. These atlases are great. I still learn from books I've had for twenty years, because there is so much information.

Jeffrey, I loved the French & Indian War episode. What are your favorite publications related to this period? Thank you!

Great question. The most recent authority on this period is Fred Anderson. He has a giant one called, "Crucible of War," and an abridged version called "The War that Made America."

Could it be possible to present an episode on the '1783 Treaty of Paris' with emphasis on the agreed upon border, section by section, of the new USA. Great stuff, Thanks.

Book publishers are so litigious that they prevent book owners from showing others the contents of the book?

It's the "no part of this work can be reproduced without the express written permission" clause that they usually include.
