GLASSHOUSE in Leeds 2007.. I lost a friend of mine on the dancefloor maybe around 2am.. 1 hour into our MDMA... Whoever was DJing put an extended deeper version of this on, I just danced with complete strangers for 12 minutes or so to this track. Amazing memories! I found my friend shortly after who had a similar experience :)
2007 marked the year that i entered the clubbing music scene after a lifetime of hip-hop. I had to be high as fuck to actually let my brain process minimal tracks like 48 Crack by Magda, or The dark room.. it was in an instant.. i finaly got it, every snippet, every crack, every squeak now finaly made sense and told me something..told me there was a hidden groove inside the track if i can only allow myself to hear it. Now i make my own beats and am proud to say that some of them were played at various parties around the world and that couldn't make me more happy. 2007 was the most interesting year of my life and i will hold it to my heart.
Andy Very interesting. 10 years before that, 1997 and I take a friend from HS who HATED and REFUSED to listen to house. We went to a dance club, he accepted as last resort. I popped a pill and told him to enjoy. He went on to become an edm producer.
Wow. I felt very heart warmed and also sad and nostalgic by reading you, just like me, also has some years as the best and most interesting of life... for me it was 2004, 07, 09 and 10, 2014... maybe 2019... damn.... and actually nothing that we plan is able to make a year great. It's all about random choices, people, moments we couldn't predict and now we deeply and kindly remember and celebrate it.
WTF.. Spotify recommended this track to me in 2021, only to find out this was made in 2007 🤯🤯. I’ve had this on repeat all this while. Talk about timeless tracks!
sounds awesome to me :) a candyflip is almost always fun if u don't have a rly bad setting. but with a beloved person at any special place and good music, the intensity of the luck, harmony and peace u might feel is sometimes rly hard to believe. have no idea what not to like about deep, beautiful feelings that wont be forgotten.
Hi fans I can't tell you how much I miss the good old techno time when everything started. After hearing all kind of electronic music in 20 years. This is it what makes me happy. I can hear it again and again it gets never boring like all that shoit what coming out nowadays. The best with silicone soul and deep dish
Jens Roelant Good stuff is still being produced if you look more underground though and if your not a fan of that there's sure as hell a shit load of older stuff you can listen to! That said, agreed that the majority of 'house' being produced now is repetitive and dull
Jens Roelant you talking about back in the day. When this track was produced i can imagine how many people thought the same... this one is not that close to 'real' old house music
Jens Roelant Hey man! i know what you mean! this track came out when i was having the most fun going out. I was 19 and i just got introduced to weed and extasy. With the years passing by, i think it is we who have changed and don't find these new tracks interesting any more.. Unless we've got mdma.. Peace Jens
All this nonsense about house music died after X specific date, young uns don't realise there was godawful commercialised versions of dance music flooding the charts twenty years ago ('chart trance' & 'top 40 dance', I called it) at the same time as all the classic underground stuff was getting supported in the 'right' clubs by the 'right' djs. Nothing has changed. There's still good stuff out there. You had to dig for it back then (to some degree). These days with superfast broadband & widespread cross-platform internet access it's arguably easier, but as someone has pointed out, that also makes it easier to flood the market with the dross too. But it's out there and it always will be... :)
haha that is so true. I'm 46 and I love house music now as I did back in the eighties. last track shuffling along my playlist is Adonis - do it properly but before that was karma Kid - love lust. 👍
I shall check both of those out immediately... :) [EDIT1:] ...Thought the first name rang a bell: 2 Puerto Ricans, a Blackman and a Dominican of course. Classic Chicago House from '86 on Trax in the US then the year after on FFRR/London over here. I take it then that the second will be more current housey niceness (once I stop jacking my body to Adonis)... You have a decade of housework on me by the way. Peace & love in OUR house...x [EDIT2:] ...Yep, Karma Kid, feeling him, for sure, cheers, so now gonna check some more of his stuff on SoundCloud...
Sorry, not intended x Been a while since anyone commented that 'that boy can move' upon witnessing my dancefloor destruction, but I believe it's still in me somewhere (hiding behind the creaky knees etc) - I just need the right set of tunes to coax it back out again...
Never before have harmonics been worked in so well together. Along with Genesis by Justice, this is truly one of the greatest electronic tracks of all time
nice! this dude musta been born with a turntable in his hands, man's put togethor a genius wee track! relaxing yet energetic, slow enough to chill and chat on a couch with and fast enough to bop around and spill youre drink to.
What I love about House Music is that agreed it may have originated Stateside. NY. Chicago etc. But when it floated over to us here in the UK we just did our own shit and danced our arses off and showed them over there how its really done. Outdoor raves and huge parties were de rigeuer and we lived to dance and party around the clock. In those days some of the greatest DJs on earth were homegrown RIGHT HERE! Young people don't get that. They thinks its all German Techno only and Euro techno. Not realising gods like Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong were moulding the finest house music on offer way back in the early 90TS. Think KLF. 808 State. And many many more.
I cant be the only one thinking, that this is problably one of the best songs ever.. also. I never get tired of hearing this, its so harmonic, such a perfect timed beat, everything is perfectly synced! None can say this song has a horrible part somewhere, its impossible! Fucking good music
Home 14...😍😍😍😍 Wir haben es alle gelebt. Bei dem Track wurde der ganze Club ruhig und alle sind gemeinsam abgegangen. Das waren die besten Zeiten. Das gehörte zu unserer Zeit.. homie's best time
those 5 mins are tie for you to recover from this massive masterpiece, before you are able to hit replay, elsewise your brain would explode because this track is too magnificent to grasp.
what an era! They absolutely smashed it back then! Even better watching them play it live going wild on that electronic drum kit! Belter after belter then turned into commercial turd! What the hell happened!
right track of the minimal impulses of house genre! booka shade always played minimal electro lolz. check the albums first a then put ur sticky minded fingers on the keys! Booka is on the top level in this genre! Love them creating.. Peace!
+Ljubomir Milicevic I was on vacation in Belgrade 3 weeks ago and i was lucky enough to stumble upon lovefest at the drugstore club. It was an amazing experience! The Serbian people are so warmhearted and friendly i love you guys!
