I came here from Harlee on TikTok after she rebound the Harry Potter series, delighted to discover you’re an Aussie! This is a fantastic resource, thank you for the time you put into this!!! Super excited to begin my book binding journey ☺️☺️☺️
I'd love a video showing how you made your book press. There's not many videos from Aussies, it's nice to have advice on what to use that's available here 😁
@@Erikaahh_Maeshe hasn’t made a tutorial yet but it genuinely is super easy! You flatten out/iron your fabric & a sheet of tissue paper so there’s no creases. Then you follow the directions on the Heat n bond (make sure it’s heatnbond lite!). Basically place hnb onto the fabric, iron it, set aside to cool, place tissue paper onto your surface, then put the fabric/hnb onto the tissue paper hnb side DOWN, iron it, and voilà you have diy book cloth!
@abbytheaussie I found one from like 5years ago from another person on youtube but i based it off her materials on her list! It's been successful! And made 1 completed book so far. Just about to finish another!
Im learning to book bind and your tutorials have all been absolutely amazing. I had no idea where to start! But now I feel prepared and ready to go! I’m super excited and will keep watching to help me improve!
Hi Mull doesn't seem to be available near me, and is not available at the store you list. Is there an alternative please? I really enjoyed your videos and would love to try, following your tutorials 😊
Love to see the video for the book cloth and the design video! In another video you also used a see through board (when you were weeding) is it just used for support or does it have another function?
Yes! That is a cutting mat specifically made for a silhouette machine. It has a sticky side that holds the heat transfer vinyl in place while the machine cuts the design out
Question, is the cricut joy a good size? Its on sale now here in a bundle so i was thinking about getting it but im afraid its too small foor book covers?
@@abound_bindery Sad! What plotter would you recommend for a starter? Buying a really expensive one right now is too much for me since i just want to start binding my first books XD
@@abound_bindery Smart!! Would you recommend cricut or silhouette more? And also does version matter? Like for example im seeing a secondhand silhouette cameo 2 but that is an older one, i think its on 5 now
