Today I show you how we made my FFXIV Summoner book - The Veil of Wiyu! Benni bound the book and I made all the details. It was a nice little project! :)

I know this is a very old comment, and I'm mostly saying this in case anyone else is curious, but the images they put in the book are what all summoner weapons in FFXIV have on their pages. I'm assuming they took reference pictures, and then recreated them.

What lazer cutter did you use? Also what's the name of your embroidery machine??? I'm an aspiring cosplayer and I really admire your work. I'm currently saving up money to buy your books and to purchase the main supplies I would like to have in order to create my own cosplays. Right now I have plasti-dip, a heat gun, a hot glue gun, elastic, velcro, EVA foam, spray paints, and the basic sewing supplies. After watching your lights video, I've added the materials you used to my list of items I would want. I'm also looking into a 3D printer, although I more than likely won't get one in the near future to say the least, due to price. If theres any advice you would like to give me, I would REALLY appreciate it. I can get a little nervous doing things for the first time so i like to be over prepared to say the least. If there's anything else I should add to my growing list of supplies... please tell me, THANK YOU!!! Cx

katryna holguin if you are based in the us you can buy a 3D printer from Walmart I believe for around $600. It's not super cheap, but it would be a good addition to do those little details you couldn't really recreate any other way.

I have a question! What book binding technique did Benni use for the pages? :D Was it a coptic stitch or a kettle stitch? I want to do the same thing with my Witch Mercy book from the Halloween Overwatch event and this tutorial is perfect for it!

Too much sadly! You can get one in the UK for around 1500 Euros. Many bigger cities have an open lab (often called FabLab) or open maker-spaces where you can go to use one though!

As this piece was just cardboard and fabric, you can get away with using a craft knife here. If it were a harder material, then a coping saw or scroll saw could be used for the same effect. These methods work as well, just take a little longer.

Yo :PI was thinking of making the base of a MDF sword and the embossed promenades with worbla, as the details would make it look more beautiful and more detailed. Would it be possible to paste the details of Worbla into MDF? Maybe with contact glue?

Hallo ich habe eine Frage ich möchte auch ein Buch mit Worbla verziehren. Und als Buchdeckel grundlage nehme ich auf eine Holzplatte. Kann man Worbla direkt mit seinem „eigenen Internen“ Kleber auf Holz Kleben. Oder empfehlt ihr auch hier Kleber? Tolle Videos! Weiter so!

Worbla klebt mit Hitze nur an Worbla oder Plastik. Für Holz brauchst du einen Kleber

It's literally just called EVA foam. They are all EVA foam just in different densities and thicknesses. :) This one i got from cosplayshop.be

Your sarcasm was kind of hard to miss though. ;) Yes, I used my laser cutter because it's quick, but you can find other much cheaper ways to get the same results if you want. Money is not an argument here. Is all I want to say.
