If we dont do great transfer business in both the summer and january transfer windows then yea we probably will struggle but i do think well have a slow start to the season coz of the change in management
Im betting on managers and i think Michael Carrick will take boro up. Last season his squad was devistated and went on to have a brilliant finnish and got brilliant results against top six teams.
as a sunderland fan it is very difficult to predict, we could finish anywhere. Last season we had no play style just get it Jack Clarke and hope he can beat players and score. Now with Regis he has came in with a playstyle and more attacking minded which is exactly what we want. Whether it works out or not is a different story ahaha
Think it can still change a bit before the end of August. Could be some big signings that could shift teams like Sunderland up the standings. Particularly if they can sign a good goal scorer. Last season they were too reliant on Clarke for goals and teams were doing their best to mark him out of the game, which meant the team slipped down the table. A good No 9 would make all the difference and get them into the playoffs IMO
Tbh, both Sheffield teams had it rough last season. And with all due respect from an owls fan , Wednesday at least improved in the later half, while the blades were basically the Rotherham of the PL. and the way that us owls have improved, I honestly see us as a potential dark horse. Best of luck to you blades though.
@@louisduty3962 gracious words. I think we were disgraceful last season, no excuses whatsoever. I’ve little faith in Wilder after his last two seasons as manager. I’ll happily settle for middle of the table. You at least have a decent manager and with a full Hillsborough behind you it should be a good season. Good luck
Premier league is a different level. Unforgiving is the word. It's no fun getting battered week after week but I want my team where it belongs, in the premier league. I'm a Leeds fan btw😊
Bogle and Rothwell both look good in Pre-season we will also use Joseph more this season plus the return of Wober and Aaronson is like having 2 new signings. Bench is stronger than last season and system will be different.
Agree about Millwall. Contrary to, say, the three newly promoted teams, they have so many Championship proven players, and I'm certain that they'll at least finish higher than any of those three plus Plymouth. I cannot see them much lower than 18th, and I have them around mid-table. On the other hand, if Pompey don't bring in more players with Championship pedigree they could be in trouble. Their starting fixtures are really tough and could take the sting out of any momentum that they carry following their impressive League One campaign.
I think you've been really harsh on Swansea I think we can be top 12 because we've got a Excpeeince manager ang a good transfer window I think we can finish 11th
Managers are probably even more important than players on whom these markets are based. No way with Scott Parker who failed miserably in Belgium is Burnley going straight up. And based on the last season Rooney would bring any club down if allowed to continue for that long.
I can see why they've got us - m.wall - for bottom 3. We're really poor starters and our run in, on paper is awful tbh, even as far back as the last 12 games. I don't think the fixtures have been kind to us at all. Take a look Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Completely agree that Millwall will be fine. Why the bookies have them down in the bottom three is beyond me. And even if they did somehow get themselves into a relegation scrap, I couldn't think of a team and manager better prepared for that sort of battle. And I say all this as someone who isn't even a Millwall fan. They'll be comfortable. I also think that Blackburn will be safe. It's almost become fashionable to predict that Blackburn are going to have a nightmare. But as is often the case at Ewood Park the level of crisis probably isn't quite as bad as is being reported. In the last three seasons the core squad has finished 8th, 7th and 19th. I think last season was an outlier due to the level of disruption. Will Blackburn go back to challenging for a play-off spot again this season? No. But are they likely to finish bottom of the pile? No. I think a steady 14th beckons. I think Portsmouth could really be the stars of the show this season. I'm not sure they're quite going to 'do an Ipswich'. But if they finished in the top ten I wouldn't be surprised.
Portsmouth are definitely the strongest of the newly promoted teams and have a very good chance of finishing high, they could do an Ipswich. Massive team and deserve to be in the prem again!
Not a chance mate, league one was so poor last year compared to the year before, you're lot and Portsmouth were nowhere the year before but do agree Portsmouth will be OK but you and Oxford will be hoping Blackburn and Plymouth are as bad as last year 👍 😉
Leeds didn’t need to make massive signings, small tweeks, and if you watch the highlights of Joe Rothwell and Jayden Bogle in our pre season games against the German sides, you’ll see what they’re bringing, I can’t wait to see us in the league next season
10:47 colby can’t now have a good season 😢😢 he has had to have heart surgery. We are looking to buy a danish striker tho (sørensen) so should be all good. Good luck to all, UTB!
Granted Leeds havent done nothing earth shattering and have lost Archie Gray but Aaranson back from loan, Rothwell and Bogle in and if we can keep Pascal Struik fit we have a better squad depth than last season.
The bookies can be so lazy with their predictions. I get why Argyle are down there but it wouldn’t matter who we had as manager we’d still be written off by everyone
@@PAFC-Louie what makes you think he will except blind optimism? I hope he is still in charge when you play Leeds because Birmingham were horrific at Elland road. One of the worst teams to come there. They had zero clue what they were doing.
@@kelvinengland3991 As fans there is nothing we can do except get behind him and support him, negativity will get us nowhere and will guarantee Rooney’s failure.
EFL Championship predictions: 1st Leeds United 2nd Coventry City 3rd Luton Town 4th Sheffield United 5th Sheffield Wednesday 6th Burnley 7th West Brom 8th Portsmouth FC 9th Sunderland 10th Hull City 11th Preston North End 12 Norwich City 13th Bristol City 14th QPR 15th Middlesbrough 16th Swansea City 17th Blackburn Rovers 18th Millwall FC 19th Watford FC 20th Cardiff City 21st Stoke City 22nd Plymouth Argyle 23rd Oxford United 24th Derby County
That is harsh no way Millwall will go down this season the bookies are taking the piss i expect Millwall do get stay up they will win the transfer window no joke they got more signings than the rest of the club get this business done I personally Millwall need to do something this season
Well you know that the bookies will choose teams like Leeds United, Middlesbrough, West Brom, Watford, Norwich City, Blackburn Rovers, Burnley, Coventry City and few others to get promoted back to the Premier League.
Ngl, i understand why people think that last season was a fluke upset, but sureley if you've atleast checked pre season scores, the way they play, and the singinga that have come in in general, why the hell are we always put into a relegation dogfight by people. We've had a better transfer season now than we did in 2019-2023 combined. I don't understand.
My championship 2024/25 predictions: 1 Leeds United 2 Burnley 3 Middlesbrough 4 Luton Town 5 West Brom 6 Coventry City 7 Sheffield United 8 Hull City 9 Norwich City 10 Sheffield Wednesday 11 Sunderland 12 QPR 13 Preston 14 Portsmouth 15 Millwall 16 Bristol City 17 Cardiff City 18 Derby County 19 Stoke City 20 Swansea City 21 Plymouth Argyle 22 Watford 23 Blackburn Rovers 24 Oxford United
Interesting looking at last seasons bookies predictions they got one right for promotion and 1 right for relegation so it proves its not the final nail for any team or fan watching.
This is what I am going with this year 1st Leeds United 2nd Luton Town 3rd Burnley 4th Middlesbrough 5th Covenry City 6th Sheffield United 7th Norwich City 8th Sunderland 9th West Brom 10th QPR 11th Millwall 12th Wednesday 13th Bristol City 14th Portsmouth 15th Preston 16th Derby Couny 17th Cardiff City 18th Watford 19th Hull City 20th Blackburn Rovers 21st Oxford United 22nd Stoke 23rd Swansea 24th Plymouth
My Predictions: 1. Leeds United (C, P) 2. Burnley (P) 3. Luton Town 4. Coventry City (O, P) 5. Sheffield United 6. Middlesbrough 7. West Bromwich Albion 8. Norwich City 9. Millwall 10. Portsmouth 22. Blackburn Rovers (R) 23. Oxford United (R) 24. Derby County (R)
Everybody that knows the championship will know Preston are the most nailed on 10th place ever in this league, never near relegation and flirt with playoffs every season.
I think Burnley could very possibly have a poor season the manager change is two completly differant personalities that the already there players struggle with is he the right man to follow kompay , I don't could be another norwich season before last
Lot will depend on new ownership. Maybe too late to affect this season, but that might not be a bad thing given the rebuild required. Some good pups coming through, so maybe 2 or 3 years and they'll be back.
Sunderland biggest issue is their owner. Fires gaffers like he knows the game. They’ll go towards top, lose 3 then fire. Owner needs to go skiing for the season and stay away from the team
I'm getting excited now, this is my Championship predictions 1st Burnley 2nd Leeds United 3rd Luton Town 4th West Brom 5th Sheffield United 6th Coventry City 7th Norwich City 8th Middlesbrough 9th Sheffield Wednesday 10th QPR 11th Hull City 12th Portsmouth 13th Sunderland 14th Watford 15th Stoke City 16th Millwall 17th Bristol City 18th Preston 19th Blackburn Rovers 20th Swansea City 21st Derby County 22nd Plymouth Argyle 23rd Oxford United 24th Cardiff City
All these people predicting rovers are getting relegated because Sammie smodzics is leaving FML. People said the same thing when Adam Armstrong left, they said the same thing when Diaz left now the same record is being played again give me a chuffing break. Chaos has reigned at Blackburn since the chicken pluckers took over a decade ago. Well we will see may next year if your predictions are correct maybe some of you will be eating humble pie but I doubt. At least burgey has backed us but maybe that’s a bad thing lol
Comment paranoia is real. Why tell us what bookies' pricing strategies are when the info is readily available? Sophie referring to 'a vested interest' as "invested interest" in the Euros was gold
Exactly, I feel Cardiff have been underrated a lot in predictions due to all the signings being frees and loans so far even though they are high level players for this level
As a Leeds fan, can we stop all these finish as Champions predictions, we ate programmed to know, there's an easy way, a hard way and then there's the Leeds way, we break records nobody else wants!!
I don’t think that”ll be a surprise to a lot of people. They finished well last year but will struggle for sure. They won’t finished above Plymouth and neither will Portsmouth. Oxford will find it tough but good luck to them. Other strugglers could be the Welsh teams and Bristol. Hull finished badly as well. Derby unconvincing but probably the best of the promo teams
