Literally the reason that got me back to reading again for sure. Also the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo was another one which really got me back into reading.
I heard about it from a podcast (Let's Talk About Myths Baby, very worth a listen, Liv is incredible.) Anyways, I was fully convinced that it was this niche book and I bought it for my girlfriend on our second date. Turns out it was extremely popular 😅
Nope not her son and WTCDS that book put me to sleep i couldn't get past the first paragraph on the second page of the first chapter but ive seen the Movie twice has nothing to do with hoover
Song of Achilles. My friend and I read that book at the same time and we both had a good cry afterwards. It’s good because it stays with you for weeks after you read it, and will also keep your friend reading because she’s been thinking about a book for so long 😂
Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson It's a fast paced fantasy book that would appeal to most people. It's well written the the characters are well thought out and have great dialogue.
I would definitely recommend good girl’s guide to murder. Yes, its YA but i found it to be incredibly mature and darker than most YA books but it still has a cozy agatha christi vibes. Plus if anyone is into true crime they’re gonna love this book. I would also highly recommend listening to the audiobook because it does some interesting things with the text. Definitely worth it to read it as an audiobook rather than physical (although doing both simultaneously is even better)
I actually believe deep down we all appreciate fantasy. It's the author ability to creat a whole new world, wich it has its very own unique rules. It'd be like a gift card for you, entering the world which is so different from your own, wil you or will you not decode this special world being presented to you? Beyond all this I believe the little kid deep within us still enjoy the feelings she/he had when they were watching Avatar/ Ben 10/ Peter pan/ Tinkerbell and etc!
THE SONG OF ACHILLES IS SO GOOD and also i want to read a good girls guide to murder but i cant bring myself to pick it up it seems interesting. Also i realllyyyyy want to read neon gods
I gave my friend who didn't read that much inheritance games and girl love reading now another rec could be the prison healer series which is pretty good
I feel like a good girls guide to murder is the way to go Like it gets you so into it fast and get really invested and the endung was great Tho the endings of the next to books will break their hearts lol
Every time someone brings out a Colleen Hoover book I trust their recommendations a little less. Her books are just bad, there’s no way to sugarcoat it. Sure it’s good for someone who’s never read a single book in their life but you’ll quickly realize how bad it is once you start reading actual books.
@@Miakoda00 cause she’s not a very good writer and glorifies and romanticizes toxic relationships and abuse. and her fan base is pretty young and her writing is very misogynistic in a way where it’s always the woman’s responsibility to “fix” the broken man and the women never get treated well or written well.
And you don't know this girl so you can't say that you dont trust her so don't be so judgmental I can tell that you are a Liar just by your comment even though I don't know you and I'm a pretty good judge in CHARECTOR
I love to read but I get into long reading slumps where I won't read for months or even a year.. Song of Achilles was a book that got me out of a long reading slump. One of the best books I've ever read, I didn't know the story of achilles and patroclus so I didn't know how it was going to end. I don't think it's fast paced in a thriller sort of way, but I couldn't put it down because I loved the story and the way it was written so much.
Inheritance games is great, it’s YA but I think it appeals to a lot of audiences, I normally hate realistic fiction and love fantasy but it had me hooked like a fish on a hook. It’s a mystery and literally the only book I’ve ever brought home to read
Give them a fantasy that's stand alone, there are lots of good ones. If she enjoys that then introduce her. The worst thing for you is have her read the first book and read the the rest 'later' aka never. I've experienced this and it's just sad 😔
I've been wanting to read those for years the covers are so beautiful I just haven't gotten the chance to read them and it doesn't need to be mentioned that the books are YA people can just mention the names of books without that
Okay, I’ve been wanting to read a throne of glass, but I don’t like spice. I love fantasy, like I love fantasy, but I don’t want porn. I’m catholic, I have multiple children, I want something I could read at a park without blushing and leave on the shelf for my kids when they get older. You get the vibe? PG-13 at best on the spice. Can I commit to this series?
My recs if you wanna start reading... Be a little patient and pick the Harry Potter books up. The first book's first few chapters can be a few challenging if you haven't watched the movies(as was in my case). Read the first one and go complete the series till the 7th.The size of the books peaks at the 5th one and it's gonna give you a hang of reading as well as confidence as you finish a thick book. Ps. A good girls guide to murder is one of the best books after HP I've come across.
I'm actually reading a good girl's guide to murder right now ans so far I love it even though I have read only like three and a half chapters but I'm loving it so muchh
@@andwhatifI... it’s porn for the sake of smut & the storyline could of been good but it lost direction. What was the point of the point of their meeting in the beginning with the hit & run. NO DIRECTION! Terrible
@@famof4392 I KNOOOW RIGHT ? Was it only trying to be an interesting opening but the author didn't know how connect it to the actual story? And anyway since I'm already writing this comment I will complain about this book once and for all. SPOILER ALERT 1. The only moment that had a build up (confrontation with Verity after it was known she was faking her illness) was so fucking disappointing. I wanted a fight, a discussion, an explanation anything really than the nothing we got. She just died and couldn't have spoken for herself. Their conversation supposed be epic, it was all we were waiting for and to end it in such a lazy way was really a waste. 2. The most annoying thing was how Lowen though it was a smart idea to read the next chapters in different days when she knew that something bad had happened and even wanted to tell Jeremy about it. Like, If she really wanted to bring this case to the daylight at leat she could've make sure she knows the whole story. 3. I really have no clue how people who have a good taste in books can mark this book as a masterpiece. No likable characters that would save this bad writing. No good plot, the in between of Veritys chapters was only Lowen obsessing over Jeremy. And Verity's chapters were about some dark stuff I guess but also about obsessing over this boring character. 4. So obviously this book has an open ending and to me the real ending is that Verity's memoir was fake simply because no good author would write such a shit show for real.
I would recommend you ruby red by Kerstin gier :) its one of the best books i know (but it features first love so if you re already a bit more mature for your age it will be fine). Further i would recommend Harry potter and percy jackson.
DON'T read Verity. Please i begging you. DON'T. It so bad. The characters are so shallow, dumb and flat. It just full of sex scenes (including the journal). I laughed and cringes because it's written by CoHo cause i like her YA books though. I'm a reader and i DON'T recommend it to anyone. Read Hopeless or Slammed. It's better.
