Crazy how this is a 14 minute video but I know it must have taken hours! It looks great! thanks for making this video, I love watching people reorganizing their shelves lol
When books are stacked I put the first one on the bottom, because this way if a new book in the series comes out you can just plop it on top of the pile. Also, it is so true when you say, you never know how many books you have until you pile them on the floor
I totally would put the 1st book in a series on the bottom of a horizontal stack. :) Beautiful shelves! I love love love the plants, and the cat at the end.
I rarely stack books, because I think it makes it harder to get to them. I pull most of my books out quite frequently to look at the cover or check out a line etc. But if I did stack them, I would put the first one on top.
I put the first in a series at the bottom, the last on top mostly because i have started a lot of series snd left unfinished so it males sense to me to have easier access to the ones I havent read yet 😀
You make me want to reorganise my bookshelves. You actually give me some really good ideas how to to do it, but at the same time I own almost 900 books and I do not have the energy to actually get up and start 🙈 I need some motivation to get moving xD
Lol I love your concern over the cannabis book - shows how odd it is for us who have grown up under it being 'bad' to suddenly be allowed to use it :) Also, in answer to your question, when i stack, i put the biggest one on the bottom, otherwise, its #1 on top.
So true! To be fair, I am pro-legalization and I've always been, even though I'm not much of a user. I guess I was more concerned because I claim to have a family-friendly channel and I know the largest part of my audience is not from Canada!
LOVE it! I just did this with my bookshelves last week and it was so much fun. It makes me happy every time I look at them now. I imagine you would be very happy looking at your gorgeous shelves too!!
personally I put 1st book last and last book on top so while you read the series you go up and dont have to fight for your life plus i like to add them after i read them
The cat in the shot makes the shelves 100% prettier Tbh I kinda like how the side stacked books look in your shelves but I just can't get myself to do this.. And I could really use that space
I always put the first book in a series at the top when I stack them. I love your shelves sooo much they are so aesthetically pleasing! The rainbows on the right shelves look so good :)
This was so satisfying to watch!! Gained a new subscriber!! I have 2 bookshelves. One is for TBR, and the other is for read books (+ CDs and movies). I also have a decorative box for my yearbooks and childhood books. Everything is loosely sorted by color
Amazing job! I thought your shelves looked great before, but I'm loving the new look! I've always wondered the same thing about the order of stacked books. Sorry that I don't have an answer for you, but your shelves look stunning either way!
I don’t know if it’s because I’m left handed or something but I always start from the left, like if it’s a saga or a trilogy the first book I always put in on the left side and the the rest in order
New subscriber here! This video just popped up on my reccomended, and it was just what I needed. I don't know what it is about bookshelf orginisations that motivates me to do stuff. Not one clue. But it does. Also. I really envy anyone who can orginise and decorate their shelves. I love the aesthetic look of it, but can't seem to do it myself. I recently orginised mine by rainbow. And I'm just about tollerating it. I love the look, but it's driving me bonkers.
Thank you so much for supporting my channel! Glad you saw value in the video! I tried the rainbow shelving once and it wasn’t for me either lol, looked cute but I found it impossible to find my books!
Can you do like a book room tour? Like how you fit and styled your books into the rest of the room? We just purchased a new house and my book collection is going into my living room so I’m trying to find a way to display them that is not overwhelming to guest coming into my living room!
Shelves look great! You've inspired me to re-organize my own bookshelves. When I'm stacking series horizontally, I put the first book in a series on top and then put them in order going down (like you had the Ember in the Ashes series). I do see the problem with the Percy Jackson series, though. Could you turn the box set to face out a different side of the box? (Sorry, I don't know what the other sides look like). I've got my Mistborn trilogy box set which I turned sideways to face out one of the images on the side.
@@ReadByAndy I know it to be tedious, but I reverse the order of the books within the boxed sets, but with the cohesive spine art of Percy Jackson, that's not really possible 😒... If you're not stacking anything on top of it, I would recommend keeping it vertical (space saving) but turning it so its right side is facing outwards (the side with the Titans Curse cover) I find that to be the most appealing, idk, just a suggestion.
Nice video! As to the order for books lying to standing, what feels more comfortabel for you? That is the version, you should choose. As to comfortable: is that an IKEA-armchair? Then it seems, we have the same, thoughmine is in cream, not grey. But that is what fits better me. For you, grey is better, but each are comfy..😃
haha good eye!! I think that would be my classics section but I'm not sure... I'll probably film a bookshelf tour soon so you can let me know if this was correct haha
I always put books in chronological order if they are horizontal like that; so exactly what you did with An Ember in the Ashes series. I can't stand when people put the last book on the top and do it in reverse order; why would you do that?! It takes me forever to organize my books how I want to, but that's because I'm a perfectionist. :p Love the new look of the shelves! I've had to make some tough choices when it comes to my books and what I want to keep, but that doesn't stop me from bringing new ones in.
