I appreciate how you remembered all of the books that were gifted to you and took a moment to say how grateful you were every time you got to one of them 🥺
Of course! I treasure them all. I remember all of them and who gifted them. I wish I have the time to mention them all but this video is 1 hour long already. 😂😂
Wow! It's wonderful to think of those books all having such a loving home where they are obviously so appreciated. So many beautiful books -- thank you for giving us the pleasure of seeing them, Petrik!
1024! Holy Moly! What a LIBRARY! Except there are more awesome fantasy books than any library I've been to! Awesome video Petrik, thanks for putting it together and making us all jealous 😁😂
@@PetrikLeo Petrik, I'm the kind of guy who has hundreds of photos of my bookshelves on my phone, and I tend to spend an embarrassingly long time standing in front of my bookcases gawking. I can't help it. So yes, looking at your bookshelves is worth it. Lol
Wow Petrik, you truly have a stunning collection (or should I say library) of books! And no need to apologise for how uncoventionally you stack and shelve all your books, I think it only shows a lot of personality and creativity!! As someone who has about 150 books at home, this video truly stunned me in all the best ways hahah. Thanks for taking the time to give us a peek behind the curtain, this was extremely exciting 🤩
Wow Petrik! Amazing video! I am so envious of your amazing bookshelf collection!!! But so happy you have all those beautiful books! This was incredible to watch!!! Thank you for sharing, and also for keeping my books as part of your amazing shelves! Honoured to be there!
Excited to watch this one! I will be moving out on my own for the first time shortly and I really look forward to working on bookshelves for the first time.
Your library is absolutely gorgeous! 🤩 I knew we had similar reading tastes but this completely solidified that…even down to the knick knacks you have. Love no-face :) Your taste is impeccable 🤌🏼
Omg I’ve been WAITING FOR THIS!!! I literally pause your videos to see what you have behind you so I can order it! We have very similar tastes in books and manga so usually whatever you think is great I pick up! Keep it up brother!
I just found you, and it’s refreshing to find someone who is humble and kind in every way. I don’t have any friends who actually read the material I do. I have a bad image of the typical epic fantasy fan to be smug (I know, it’s not healthy), so when I see someone like yourself, it gives me hope! Thank you for your hard work 👍
@@PetrikLeo as you well know, the fantasy genre gets a bad name. There is a stereotyped staple that marks it as childish and lifeless. I think this makes fantasy fans grasp for proof of prestige in the genre. I’m all honesty, I think it’s just important to remind ourselves that if we love a specific genre or book, why does it matter what the consensus think we should be reading or what others are interested in. If we enjoy a story, that should be all that matters, whether it’s popular or not. And you convey this so incredibly well. Thank you for creating that safe environment!
Wow! I know a lot of work went into this and just want to say thank you!! I’ve been trying to read more fantasy, and I get a lot of good info from your channel!
@@PetrikLeo yes I was telling another RU-vidr I had a big library when I moved once from state to state and I had to give them all away to donation bc I didn’t have space for them. So now I start a new one so we will see how it turns out
It’s more than impressive, all in printed form, tons are in special editions.👏 I miss a lot from reviews. You have a lot of books that are not mentioned enough in booktube and I’m only talking about fantasy (and some scifi).
Maybe a shelving company will see this and want to give you a sponsorship 😂. Really impressive collection, its so cool that you can finally call it a library 😊.
Oh wow, what a beautiful collection😍 I'm a little surprised that out of all the Backman books, you don't own Beartown, as it is the one that seems to me to be maybe the most aligned with your taste.
Friend....you need more bookshelves. Hahaa! Thank you for sharing your impressive library! Now that I am a John Gwynne fan, I'm drooling over your hardcover collection of his works! Loved seeing all your stickers, bookmarks- LOVED the framed puzzles- and art prints! You have made me pay more attention to book cover art- and I thank you for that. AND YES, Choco Boy is indeed MAJESTIC :)
Thank you so much, Tiffany! Your support means a lot to me. I treasure my John Gwynne collection! Definitely will acquire Fury of the Gods hardcover, too! 😄
That is a very impressive collection! I have many of the same books. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who has more than one copy or edition of the same books. 😅 -Palmer Pickering
I’m over here with an iPad and a digital library card. Great collection! Makes me miss collecting a little. I just stopped enjoying holding books when I read. I’m spoiled now! I might go for a set of the new malazan hardcovers though.
The Dragons of Terra trilogy by Brian Naslund was what got me into fantasy. I really enjoyed it. I haven't seen many people talk about it. I think it was his debut?
Ah yessss! That's the name of Brian Naslund's trilogy. I forgot the name here. Yeah, that was his debut series. Seems like the author hasn't released another book since then. The first book was really good! :)
Thank you so much for doing this. Every time you post a book haul I get stressed out about the space. I don't think it's disorganized at all, it all looks very neat and clean and I love your taste in furniture. Is the long blue table from exhibit 2 part of a set with your computer table? I just love the light blue color and I love your curtains too. Book stacks are sexy, little brother; your library is genuinely the library of a true reader not someone who has books as decorations. Excellent video, P. Thank you for all the work you put into it.
Lets have a moment of silence for the death of our egos thinking we had lots of books................. 😂 Amazing!!! Everithing looks so itresting. Good taist patrick. 😮😮👏👏👏👏😎😎👍👍
If you ever want to make some space I'll buy that regular edition of The Shadow of the Gods for reasonable price. Because if you think Empire of Silence in hardback has crazy pricing you should check what people are asking for TSotG.
@@PetrikLeo Haha thanks, and no problem! I love books and video games, as they're all telling a story 🙂 and Dark Souls is one of my most beloved games ♥ Also, all your special editions are so lovely! And The Outsiders - another favourite, and one I read so much as a teenager (of the 80s lol) that my book literally fell apart in my hands XD
“Yeah, well, you know, thats just like, your opinion, man.” - The Big Lebowski or The Dude. All aside comical joking. Really Impressive, keep up the Great Work! Really excited for Malazan’s new books and JRR Tolkien this year. Any thoughts on MinaLima Harry Potter books, thank you.
Thumb's up number 30 (no silver coins, no Judas shenanigans) took my sweet time to send the comment though. I feel like I was invited to your house. (A house tour) But only the part that tickles my Nerdomania/geekomania.
9:01 Nice shelf! One Question: i noticed so far you have both pb and hb of the same books, like the poppy war, how come? second question; do you read paperback or hardback covers?or both? Thanks for the content🙏
When I own a hardback and paperback, most of the time, it's because one of them is gifted. Like The Poppy War. As for reading, I tend to prefer hardback if I have both. 🙂
Hey, that's only at least 25 years of reading for me at my current rate. It's a very nice collection. I love the series that create a scrawling picture. I wonder how many non-duplicate books this comes out to though? And do you rival any local libraries?
@@PetrikLeo Oh my, so you could be the local library if you ever got a wild hair to go down that road? That would be one heck of a Kickstarter project!
As someone with a similar amount of books. Let me ask you this question i was asked the other day. If i offered you 2 million dollars for your entire library would you take it? My answer was no. To many memories
It will be difficult... but 2 million dollars can buy my entire collection of books (not counting the limited ones) again! It will be super hard to part ways with some of my most treasured books, but I dunno. I'll think about it if the offer ever comes! xD
Your bookshelf is missing Glen Cook and R Scott Bakker. And more Gene Wolfe. Anyway, I saw your US covers of Sun Eater, and they were quite different than the EU ones. Which made me think about others too, like Path of Ascendancy. And I wonder, can you do another video of comparing different covers of books? Because that was you right? Or was that Daniel? Pretty sure it was you
I sold my Glen Cook's books. As for Bakker, I own the ebooks. The cover art is too hideous. I don't want them in physical format. For Sun Eater, it is a different art compared to the UK/Europe ones. Not sure I ever made a US vs UK cover art video though. Probably Daniel? 😅
@@PetrikLeo Why did you sell Glen Cook?! Dread Empire is imo even better than first law. Probably Daniel😅 I just vividly remember a booktuber comparing US vs UK covers and ranking them.
It's always interesting seeing another reader's library, especially when there is so little crossover with my own. Some of these books look really lovely. It would be an absolute privilege for my own work to share a space in a reader's curated collection someday. Just one more thing to inspire and motivate me to keep going. Thank you for sharing. 😊
You're welcome! Thank you for watching it, too. I always like watching people's library, I definitely understand what you meant. Here's hoping your books will appear on reader's shelf someday! :)
