Hello friends! You aren't dreaming after 2 years of saying I was going to put up a bookshelf tour, Its finally here! I am so excited to share this video with you, it has been a labor of love, from the first to the last process of this video it has caused a lot of trouble. In the words of JRR Tolkien " You can only come to the morning through shadows" even though this has been a hard video for me to make, I know its one I am proud of and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did making it! My shelves have everything a book nerd could want... thriller, horror, fantasy, sci-fi, manga, graphic novels, dark academia, middle grade, classics, beautiful covers, and everything in between! I also have a few ideas for decorating YOUR bookshelves as well so hopefully you can find some inspiration for your own shelves. Thank you so much for watching and supporting! ♡ Kalyn

I watched The One on Netflix, I didn't think it was going to be my type of thing, I usually don't watch drama stuff, however The One is ironically an exception for me, it was beautiful. I haven't read the book yet, but the show on Netflix is one of the best things I have watched. The director is fantastic, visually stunning, heart retching, i loved the subtle sci fi aspects, cause that's what I do love, but if you can throw it in there subtly, amazing writer and director. kudos to both, stunning idea. x

Well worth the wait! I loved getting a peak at your book collection! A Monster Calls is so good. I read it maybe less than a year after my father passed away. It resonated so deeply with me. Such an important book with lots of important messages in it.

I've been looking for a great bookshelf tour, thank you!!! Your shelves are really lovely! You've probably read more Stephen King by now, but I always far preferred his earliest works - Carrie, The Shining, The Stand, Firestarter, etc, over what he wrote post-accident. I've been in a major reading slump lately, so nice to get some recommendations. Thought I'd try the Song of Achilles & Circe, so now, ofc, I'm seeing those books everywhere lol XD Pan's Labyrinth! That is a gorgeous edition. I also love the novelisation of the movie, which is probably my favourite movie :-)

I have not read Abarat but one of my favorite books when I was a kid was The Thief of Always by Clive Barker. btw, I noticed you kept saying "she" in reference to MinaLima, but they're actually a graphic design duo, not a woman. Aww thank you!! I got the dress in this video from Lichi, they are a clothing brand based in Germany but I LOVE their clothes. The corset in my haul is actually a dress that I got from Cider, which is a fairly priced clothing brand that has that dress as well as actual corsets

I just bought three Billy bookcases, and I'm definitely using your shelves for design/decor inspo. They are so beautiful!! And huh, I didn't know that Bone Gap was a Hades/Persephone retelling, so neat. But I absolutely love Bone Gap! It's my favorite magical realism book, and I've read it three times. If you enjoy clive barkers arabat, you should read weaveworld by them! its a dark fantasy about the world within a carpet! Im a big clive barker fan, but tbh im a fan of his horror work mostly, idk if you know they hes the one who wrote the hellraiser series and directed them, he writes some very fun,dark, dirty, demonic horror stuff as well. He is also a queer author as well!

You probably have been told this. Or probably have read this since the video is for 9 months ago. But if you haven't heard of this and haven't read it yet. If you like Stephan King's writing give "The shinning" a try. I'm not really into his works tbh but the shinning was fine even for me. And it's the only book I have read from him😅but yeah. Give it a try you might like it. Lovely video btw. Made me wanna buy more books and make my library grow more

Can I ask how you go back to your natural blonde hair ? I have blond hair and I wanted to dye my hair ginger like you since I was 5 but I'm too scared it will be impossible to go back to my natural blonde without heavy treatment or take years. Now I see you switching between colors and it's giving me hope :)

I’m not really sure haha, I went a lighter almost strawberry blonde and I loved it so went darker. I did it lighter just in case I wanted to go back. But going the color it is now is definitely a commitment. You could always do the same, try strawberry blonde see if you like it then decide if you want to go darker.

I hated the institute I have never read it but I absolutely love the stand and the long walk both by Stephen king and the dark tower series and along with some of his other books
