Watch us as we set up our Jayco Crosstrak, make some delicious campfood and swim in the beautiful waters of Booloumba Creek.
Booloumba Creek is located in the Conondale National Park, approximately 2 hours from Brisbane, and tucked away in a semi-secluded valley in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It features lush dense rainforest, waterfalls, crystal clear pebbled lined creeks, and spectacular scenery. It's easily one of the Sunshine Coasts hidden gems.
There are three campgrounds to choose from. They range from spots tucked deep in the trees and close to the creek to an open grassy area suitable for campers and caravans.
There are many swimming holes along the boulder-strewn creek to swim in, but the most popular one is found at campground three.
There are also multiple walks to choose from, but on this particular trip, we decided to go to the falls at the very top of the park. To get to the falls, you need to take a 4wd track that winds its way high up into the top of the hills. The road can get extremely rutted out and slippery in wet weather, but after rain is best time to see the falls flowing. The well-defined walking track weaves through the rainforests above Booloumba Creek and leads you directly to the waterfall with a beautiful swimming hole and lookout of the main falls and the "Breadknife", a rock cliff formed by fast flowing waters over time.
