Sadly I didn't watch a lot of boomerang because it wasn't in our cable packages as they used to be though I remember watching some of them growing up as a kid and if I was able to turn back the clock I would have chose to record all of them as they once were before boomerang became so weird as they are now and to be honest I like the old boomerang compared to the new boomerang
As strange as it is to say, these bumpers were probably my first introduction to other genres of music when I was a kid. I lived in an area dominated by Country music, so it was a real eye opener hearing R&B, electronic and different rock styles
Yeah. The cool thing about 90s and 00s animated networks is that they were pretty up to date with the pop culture to have diverse music in the shows and marketing. It also helps that a lot of the people who were in charge of Nick and CN/Boomerang also worked on MTV in the 80s and 90s.
You never know how crappy changing something can result especially when you have something good and can't wait to see how they make it better only for it to suck
i never realized how some of these contain more adult topics omg.....marriage counseling...restraining orders.....damn my 3 yr old self didnt rly know lmao
It's hilarious to me, how most of these videos are based on cartoons from the 60s and 70s, reintroduced to an entire generation via USA Network Cartoon Express in the 80s, then re-reintroduced to ANOTHER generation in the late 90/early 2000s by Cartoon Network. Truly, the more things change, the more they stay the same...
I’m currently 29 years old. Classic boomerang, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network from this era just hits different for people in my age group. Almost makes me want to cry.
I am also currently 29 years old. This era of cartoons, commercials, and little artistic pieces like these are honestly some of the most iconic and powerfully nostalgic pieces of media we will ever have. I believe this is because, at that time, the vibe of media as a whole, but especially children's media, was both building upon and very often including the vibes and cultural textures of all eras before it. We remembered, honored, and celebrated all the good things of past art and media, the things that we remembered fondly. Sadly, this just isn't done anymore. Most everything from the past is considered either lame, cringe, taboo, or non-PC nowadays. Some of it very much was, but not all of it. It just seems art is becoming respected and appreciated if and only if the environment and context in which it is created, is completely sterile and wholesome.
@@keketherealmvp7568 I honestly can not blame anyone for not having cable considering not enough verity exist on it. Cable from my experience and many people I know is a ripe off which is why they ditch it for streaming. This is literally what I did and do not regret it at all infact the cable guy who use to give told us cable TV isn't going to last much longer. Honestly though I can think of reason's why this is. Such as not enough verity and the channels that you have just seem to have the same shit everyday.
@Priinsu dude just like how this is creative, they didn't do a transition. All of a sudden that crap just came. And "THEY" told us it was good while ratings fell HARD!!!.

As an 02 baby almost 20 years old I'd like to have a quick moment of silence for Cartoon Network, boomerang, and cartoons overall. God made my childhood beautiful
03 baby here. This era of Boomerang is quite near and dear to my heart. My parents didn’t have boomerang in they’re cable package, but my grandparents did so it was always a treat getting to watch these whenever we visited them. I damn near shed a tear upon learning that they got rid of these awesome bumpers a few years ago
one reason being that world is constantly changing and now that people are finding out the historic origins of these cartoons, e.g Tom and Jerry being nicknames for German Soldiers and their weapons on World War 2, it encourages even less to broadcast these again on television.
@@zeospark9715Tell me about it now that's all they ever show what happened to Dexter's Laboratory Johnny Bravo,Yogi Bear ,Huckleberry Hound Snagglepuss Courage the Cowardly dog Cow and Chicken,Jetsons,* mean shit they really screwed up their legacy.
I remember all of these except Circles at the end. Great upload. Boomerang was pretty cool when I was a kid. Too bad it didn't stay true to its name. Boomerang could have been a great way to introduce today's kids to Cartoon Network's late 90s-early 00s lineup.
as do i it pisses me off that they kicked off the good shows for the new crap that is there now sum of em arn't bad but the shit thats on there needs to b shit on an destroyed STOP CRAPPIN ON GOOD SHOWS FOR STUPID ONES!
That early to mid 2000s nostalgia is hitting me like a truck. All this is missing is Nacho Bear and that substitute teacher guy that I forget the name of.
I have AWFUL memory and it really makes me sad because I end up forgetting a lot of meaningful things from the past. However, finding this has really opened up a handful of memories stored deepdown from my childhood, and that makes me unbelievably happy. I love this.
@@boyfriendfromfnf385 And SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron, along with The Centurions. Good thing I have the SWAT Kats DVD. Now I can finally binge watch my favorite cartoon. Happy Anniversary SWAT Kats: 1993-2023
The 1990s was the last good decade for TV everything had to be good but after Internet then funky reality TV bullshit fucked everything up From MTV,BET, Cartoon Network E! WTF happened to us😢
The cowboy version of the josie and pussy cats bumper scared the shit out of me as a kid. The faces and the unnatural movement was really scary when I was alone in the room
*sigh* I remember this era of Boomerang. Definitely the best one, imo. Not *just* because of the Groovies and Shorties, but also because of how simple they were, and how fun it was for me to watch when I was a kid. Good times, indeed. :')
Can we talk about how amazing these animations are?! Every single one of these is straight up gorgeous and tell their stories so well. I could watch these all day
3:36 is one of my favorites, especially the band's name, "Calexico". Actually, Calexico is a Tucson, Arizona-based Americana, Tex-Mex, indie rock band. The band's two main members, Joey Burns and John Convertino, first played together in Los Angeles as part of the group Giant Sand. The song, "Minas de cobre (For Better Metal)", was released in 1998 on their album "The Black Light".
This was my childhood network. So many great shows. Not once did i EVER change the channel. Because there was no reason to change it. Not only that, but the network itself, showed so much loved for the shows we love. "It's all coming back to you" was the slogan. Nowadays, all these shows are of the air or on some paid app/streaming service. You can't find full episodes on YT, only clips. When i last watched Boomerang, they had started airing "new" episodes of the shows that had just aired on CN. With regular commercials and no love for the shows that today's kids love like this video shows.
Im 19 now, but I remember laying in my parents bed alone late at night (by that i mean like 10pm) watching boomerang. I almost completley forgot about their bumpers, but now that I've found them again its like a gold mine
I really missed this Boomerang. Mind you all of these music things were made in the early to mid 2000s where Boomerang got it's own channel and despite pretty much all of these shows being made decades before this point, they still cared enough to put all of these unique vids and shorts into them. CN used to care about ALL their shows from past to present but these days, it's just, well TTG.
I am usually not one to complain when channels change aesthetics. After all, everything needs to evolve. But boomerang took a big hit. There is something about all those bumpers with their drum and bass music, and the company getting actual bands to come in and sing songs about the old cartoons that made them seem so much more appealing at a time when I probably wouldn't have cared otherwise. It's easy to say now that I'm older that every cartoon deserves equal footing, but as a kid most people don't want to watch things that are older, and I think boomerang managed to change that buy incorporating musical styles and artists that were modern at the time. Without feeling like a how do you do fellow kids moment no less. The new bumpers and announcer for the channel just don't have that same charm, and that isn't helped by the fact that it's now ad supported and it's basically become the Tom and Jerry show all the time. Though to be fair, now that HBO Max is a thing there's really no point for boomerang to exist anymore.
Yea it sucks that boomerangs had to change, it was the channel I'd watch right when cartoon networked switch to adult swim. It's how I know about all these old cartoons like wacky racers, the smurfs, Flintstones, the jetsons, the pink panther, the classic Tom and Jerry, etc They may not be as shiny as the shows on CN but I grew to enjoy them nonetheless. I've always saw them as the channel for classic cartoons. But now they've changed to just pretty much airing whatever old episodes of what shows CN has rn. It's pretty much a cartoon network clone. It's just not the same, from trying to appeal to a modern audience, boomerang lost what made it special in the first place. I miss the original style, sure it may have been old but it stood out and it was quite charming too. Though I guess things have to change.
This brings me back to a much simpler time. A time when summer meant that I'd get to sit in front of the TV all day watching boomerang, and not that it's hot and I have to go to work.....
It sucks how all of these are replaced by boring advertisements. Kids aren’t going to care about that.. at least when I was younger I was entertained by watching these in between my shows.
Back in the day when my family had At&t cable we had all these channels but the only one I watched was boomerang. It was by far the best channel and I miss it so much.
I remember these frequently as a kid, especially the Johnny Quest, Josie & The Pussycats and El Kabong ones. It's amazing how much creativity and unique ideas these had
As an early 2000’s kid boomerang was a huge part of my childhood. Everyday I’d watch shows on boomerang. I would sit at the tv for hours just watching the flinstones, the jetsons, yogi bear, Tom and Jerry, Johnny quest etc 😭 Christmas time was my favorite because all of the boomerang commercials would be Christmas themed. It’s really nostalgic and it was just such simpler times back then. Too bad the newer generations won’t experience any of this.
Even as a little kid I knew this stuff was weird, but I liked it then. Coming back, it’s still weird, and just as good. Yet despite how much I loved it, I had no memory of any of these until I randomly found them.
This brings back memories. I remember that I watched most of these shorts when I was really young. I was so fascinated that the people behind these shorts take each Hanna Barbera IP and make something creative and share them with all viewers; it is like paying homage to these classic cartoon characters, especially from the cartoons I never watched like Johnny Quest and Jabberjaw. The short I remembered the most was the Johnny Quest short.
I was born in 2006 in I remember staying up at night on the couch as a kid watching boomerang in drift away to sleep with the tv on good nostalgia childhood
+ToonRuss Network 2 nice, I wish I had thought a head and taped some classic cartoons before the rebrand. I just thought it elukd be a bumper change (they were in need of it)
+ToonamiVHS I would of done the same but I never thought they would rebrand it when I finally got the channel back on my TV it was too late and I was so mad when I didn't record it when it had it
+ToonRuss Network 2 ive had boomerang for many years, I took the constant reruns as a given so I didn't record it because I thought they'd do this for years. they had the same bumps since I got the channel almost a decade ago. I thought it just an endless loop of classic cartoons, and I thought it would stay that way.
+ToonamiVHS same man I'm so angry at myself for not recording it and now its gone so now I just grab each tape I find on it I just hope someone has the schedule with 2 Stupid Dogs and ppg and Dexter and all that
