The BBX Boomerang Flash Bracket quickly and easily rotates your speedlight/flash above the lens into preferred shooting orientation! It’s unobtrusive design, smooth action and precision operation make it a joy to use.
Positioning the flash above the lens eliminates shadows and Red-Eye, greatly improving the lighting quality in your photographs. Improving images “in camera” will reduce post processing time, saving hours of potential retouching. It’s the perfect camera accessory for fast paced situations like weddings and events.
The BBX has been designed to fit and adjust to all types of cameras with or without vertical grips (battery packs, etc). It fits standard DSLR’s like Canon 5D, Nikon D850 or similar and may be adjusted for use with taller / larger cameras such as the 1Dx and Nikon D5 and cameras with optional Battery Grips. The BBX can even adjust to fits smaller micro 4/3 bodies and Mirrorless Cameras like the Sony A7, Panasonic G5 / G9, Fuji and Olympus. The BBX Adjustable Height Mechanism allows for fine tuning of the flash arm location to fit these various camera sizes.
The Boomerang places the flash away from the hot shoe, allowing unrestricted access for a wireless controller / transmitter. The flash plate is capable of mounting wired and wireless speedlights, battery powered Flash Heads and so much more.
The Boomerang Flash Bracket is built around our Arca Compatible Camera Mounting Plate aka: Bracket Plate. The Flash Bracket comes complete with our Universal Bracket Plate with BBX Disconnect Pins or you may select a custom anti-twist plate specifically for your camera model/type in the drop-down menu. The Flash Bracket attaches to our Bracket Plate with a quick release locking mechanism requiring no tools.
Additionally, accessories such as: L-brackets, Handles, Port Protectors and other Adapters may be attached to our Bracket Plate system without blocking the Arca Compatible Base. These accessories provide the ability to add other gear such as microphones, monitors and triggers with ease to better fit your shooting style. Look into the related items below to see what else works with the BBX.
The unit quickly folds down and can easily be stored in your gear bag when not in use.

I use a Spider camera holster on the bottom of my camera. Can I mount it on my holster of do I need to remove it?

Is it possible to keep from doubling the height of your flash, when switching from landscape to portrait?

I think i know the answer but why is the flash so high from the camera? Can it not be made more compact? I just see issues with the flash getting in the way of other press photographers. Looks nice and solid though which is better than what i have seen from similar devices.

I've tried all kinds of brackets including the Custom Brackets CB RF-PRO and the same problem with all of them....at some point the bottom plate that attaches to the camera will loosen and the camera will start to turn. How is this any different? I shoot with a Sony a9 and battery grip. Does it have a custom plate for the battery grip too?

Hi Roger, the plate comes with a universal PBX3 bracket plate but you can select a custom designed plate for your Sony A9 to prevent it from twisting. You may also watch this video for the Sony A9 accessories and bracket plates, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W9ZAacvI8Xg.html

One of my lenses I often shoot with a Sigma 105 Art lens on my Nikon z7ii - it is really wide, will it clear the arm?

There will be enough room for your Sigma art lens. We've tested it before and it works with BBGv2 flash bracket

Can this be utilized on a tripod and switch the camera from portrait to landscape?

Yes, you can attach vertical portion L-bracket on its base plate to allow switching the camera from portrait to landscape orientation.

30d? lol. how old is this video? (i love a gimmick, btw, but man, thats a ton of extra weight just to put the flash right above the lens. If it were intended to get the flash further away from the camera, or actually to the side making it more like an off camera flash look without carrying around a lightstand, that would be a cool idea. I'm guessing this business is no longer selling these.) cool idea, though.
