I’m currently flying through the stout version and can’t wait to try the skinny version. In addition to your super easy to follow instructions, I appreciate you explaining the why and how behind the difference in growth rate between the two. P.S. It’s fantastic seeing more of your personality and wit come out on Russ’ lives. Your combination of book smarts and pop culture references has me awed, impressed, and laughing all at once. I hope you’ll be hosting some lives on your channel in the near future! ❤️
thankyou. after watching, videos and reading articles , practicing and not frogging countless attempts , but literally throwing my projects in the trash in a fit of rage, i found you. subscribed and shared.
I love ALL your videos!!!! your voice is extremely soothing to me and makes it seem like we've been friends for years, so you have a great, calming voice, and are a great teacher! please keep the videos coming!!!!!!!
Hi!!!! I really learn so much from your videos. I’ve watched you for years. 😊 Your instructions and explanations are just clear and easy to follow. You’re a natural. I’m going to try the stout one first. Excited!!!! Blessings. 🧶🤓
Thank you! I have tried to make to make this shawl a couple of years ago and became so confused that I became discouraged. This tutorial and your speaking about what youre doing made everthing clear. I will try this pattern again! I have gained a new respect for you, Fiber Spider, as a teacher. You difinitely know what you are doing as a teacher. 😊
Thanks again for another great video. I find your tutorials so easy to follow. You really take your time to explain what you are doing....thank you for that!
My goodness I'm loving this!! Am making the "stout" one with my festive (rainbow) canon colors! I love your tutorials! You're easy to understand and have a very calm voice and friendly demeanor!
I've done both versions of this pattern and the Stout version, I find looks better when I'm wearing it,however, I like to crochet the slim version, better as you feel like your getting somewhere, if that makes sense. 😊Ijust'm on my last couple of rows ,or so I thought , of the Vagabond shawl ,when your decreases for the pattern past in front of my eyes last night😲And now when everyones asleep, I shall just have to carry on .It will be worth it in the end. Many thanks, Amanda xx from the UK.💞
I have learned something, I am a lefty, and it’s so hard for me to watch you crochet and then do it ! Never dreamed that I would have trouble watching and doing when I can read right and do left! I’m going to try to do the slender version....... wish me luck!! I love your programs !!!❤️❤️❤️
Dear Mister fiber spider. I am making the stout boomerang shawl. With Bernat net pop cake omg so easy fun and pretty. Think I am keeping this one myself. Once again I am loving your videos and patterns. Thanks Norma
I love you! You have fixed my brain! I was really wondering what to make next, and when I came across your video, it was so very clear and so well done, I can now go galloping ahead with my next project. Thank you Thank you Mr Fibre Spider xxx
of all the new shawls I've learned from RU-vid, this one, by far is my favorite! I'm making the slender shawl with Premier Yarn Sweet Roll in Cherry Swirl. Thank you, Fiber Spider!
Love your tutorials! Can't wait to make the boomerang shawl! I think I'm either going to use Premier Sweet Roll yarn or Red Heart SS Stripes yarn. Thanks for including both versions!
The 'stout' will show case beautiful self striping yarn very nicely because it has a movement or progression that can be brought out by this technique. I really like this, thank you, 👌🏼🐣
- Thank You so much for this video! I immediately started with the stout version, but I think I will frog it and change it into the slender version instead. I used a to small crochet hook so I will go up one size aswell. Your videos are very well done and I enjoy them very much!!! /Lisbeth from Sweden.
I love your tutorials and the intro music just makes me so happy haha! Thank you for showing us the variations you do to your own projects it really helps to know there are options for everything. Love your channel it's very inspiring!
Thank you so much for this. I stumbled across your channel at the weekend and have already made a slender version, and just started on the dragon wing one. Keep up the good work, I love it!
What I find helpful is this. After the first time I 3dc to start a row, I put a red stitch marker around both legs of the loop on the hook (just under the hook). I put a yellow stitch marker the first timed I do a single dc start. I move them as I go up. That way, when I reach a red marker, whether it be the end or the beginning of the row, I know I need to do a 3dc. When I reach a yellow stitch marker, I know I have to either do a single dc start or a dctog end stitch. I can also immediately tell if I have turned or not because I have to always be moving toward one stitch marker or other.
I am so curious about this one. How would one drape this on oneself? I’m not fashionista and idk how it should go lol Every time I watch a video of yours it just adds to my “to make”list lol
ROW 1: Make a 4-chain foundation. Then dc in 2nd chain from hook (3rd chain) and in 4th chain. (last chain). ROW 2: Chain 2. Turn. In very first stitch, make 3 dc, then dc across until last 2 stitches. You dctog those last 2 stitches. ROW 3: Chain 2. Turn. Place yellow stitch marker around both legs of loop on hook. (Yellow will be signal for either ending with dctog or beginning with single dc only.) In very first stitch, dc. Then dc across until last stitch and do 3dc in last stitch. Place red stitch marker around both legs of loop on hook. (Red will be the signal for both ending and starting with 3dc.) ROW 4: Chain 2. Turn. In very first stitch, 3 dc. Then dc all the way across until last 2 stitches and dctog those two stitches. ROW 5: Chain 2. Turn. Move yellow stitch marker to wrap it around both legs of loop on hook. In very first stitch, dc. Then dc across until last stitch and do 3dc in last stitch. ROW 6: Chain 2. Turn. Move red stitch marker to wrap it around both legs of loop on hook. In very first stitch, 3 dc. Dc all the way across until last 2 stitches and dctog those two stitches. REPEAT ROWS 5 AND 6 UNTIL SCARF IS SIZE DESIRED.
You're awesome fiber spider. Made the Stout shawl in basically a day. But the Slimmer show is giving me a little bit of problem. I've been crocheting for years and years and too many years but the decrease side keeps curling on me any suggestions?
Hi I love your videos. But I’m a bit confused? Does the pattern just happen by it self? Or du you have to decreace when you want to end the work? Or How does it happen? 😆🤷🏻♀️ I would love to make one💙
