I was engaged to a man who complained about having to pay arrears for child support when he was laid off from work and could not pay. He felt the government should let him slide for that time and was trying to fight it. It really turned me off him. He only saw the kids on weekends and he complained about having to pay his baby mama ($200. Per month) for two kids. Where can they live, eat, wear, school fees, doctor visits, child care when needed, for $200.00 a month? I lost confidence in his ability to take on the responsibility of being my husband. I had no children, but I was willing to work and help him with his as his wife and I hoped to also have one or two as well. I had a change of heart based on his attitude about his responsibilities. Pay for your responsibilities gladly...they will be a blessing to you later in life if you raise them right.

Honestly it all depends! I’m still tight with my ex wife with zero chance of us getting back together. But she never filed child support on me and never once threaten me with it even after heated arguments. In return I make sure my kids are taken care of, I’ve bought her a car, paid for her to be fixed several times etc but if she got a new man I step back and let him take care of his responsibilities with her but I continue to take care of my responsibilities with our kids
