A trick i used is by moddeling a bounce card to the shape of the liquid in perspective. That way you also get super nice lit liquid. I believe they also tend to do this in real life with a piece of paper

One thing i seem to be missing is, is the liquid doesnt look like liquid. It feels it missing or doesnt have the correct IOR. The light is not breaking in a certain angle which we normally do see in liquid
