ACFT is no joke. Not super difficult by any means to max, but you’ll get stuck on the ball throw and the sprint-drag-carry if you don’t train specific for them

I get 11 to 12 meters in the ball throw Squat, Lunges, pull-ups. Those three workouts will help you kill the sprint drag carry and the ball throw.

I appreciate the will and desire to serve. Kid needs to talk less, listen more. Another one, did he take notes? If not it will go in one ear and out the other. Even if he isn't going SF, there's no excuse to go in unprepared and not exceeding the minimum standards.

Jake, Tried to join as army officer but didn’t pass through one of the stages of cadetship competition. Not US. I can apply for cadetship after recruit training (4 months). Should I enlist for recruits or wait until cadetship competition next year? Have a degree.

I'm confused that infantry is a competitive branch... I always thought that's where they send you when you suck because you're going to be the grunt?
@thesecretjuice
@thesecretjuice 20 дней назад
Enlisted, yes. Officer, it's a more desired branch. The best cadets out of ROTC and West Point get Infantry. Out of OCS, it's dependent on class, but can be one of the most competitive branches to get as well.

@@yippikiyay197Infantry , medical and other support fields have higher promotion rates. If an officer gets a ranger , beret and other tabs it’ll make their case at the promotion board.
@thesecretjuice
@thesecretjuice 20 дней назад
@@yippikiyay197 Because on the enlisted side to be a regular infantryman, the requirements aren’t very high. It’s easy to qualify for in terms of asvab scores and baseline requirements. On the officer side, more cadets want it. As an officer, you won’t choose infantry unless you’re motivated and want to get after it. It tends to be the fittest and most squared away officers who get infantry. It’s a bit of self selection, but because the most squared away and motivated cadets are putting infantry as top choices, that makes it hard to get infantry if you’re not someone like that. The cadets who go after combat arms are usually jocks. The sort of guys who are motivated to go after the most dangerous and difficult jobs that historically have also received the most recognition - things like infantry. However, they will also need high grades to get infantry because all of that is factored into the cadet ranking system. In the end it works out to some of the most fit and intelligent guys.

During OCS the majority of OML points come from stx lane and acft. Like almost 2/3 of the points from what i remember. The rest is classroom and peer evals. That leads to a final ranking being heavily influenced by infantry potential. A lot of people in top 10 chose infantry. Then there were the bottom force slotted since there was a hugh number of infantry slots that cycle.
