I could watch and listen to him for hours ....i used to save the muttonfat from the sunday joint and waterproof my shepherds boots with it did the job ..
I had no idea that the gloss is bad because it stops breathability! I've always maintained boots as I was shown in cadets as a boy, I had no idea that gris is the way to go!
I never knew about the chukka model, and now my search for a pair of size 12's is causing me sleepless nights 😴 I need these in my life - HELP ⁉ And, please tell me if you're ever planning a dealer model 🤔 Brilliant boots, I've worn Peacekeepers for decades, and highly recommend them 👌
How long should i leave the leder glos on before buffing off ? Overnight? A few hours? And when buffing should i only use a cloth like you did or can a soft brush be used
You should scrape them between two surfaces to “wring” out the oil and grease of the leder gris, they show you can do it with the side of the tin to get it back into the container, like you were shutting the lid but with the brush in the gap. Or else you can rub a cloth onto it and absorb it into the cloth, get it a bit warm. Maybe draw your laces through the brush to get some of the oil in your lace, it helps the lace. Not excessively greasy but a little oil helps them bite and hold and stay supple. A hairdryer to heat up cooled and solidified grease will help.
@@123ChrisG I don't know, but they caused me pain and despite going for a fitting at the factory was none the wiser. I also found they offered zero ankle support so all in all, altberg peacekeepers were just bad clompy shoes pretending to be boots.
@@robinjameshartley7673 Not tried the Peacekeepers, but by Tethera boots are probably the best boots I’ve had. Never had discomfort or rubbing and no water ingress. Had a pair of Zamberlan boots which were fantastic quality, but just too narrow for my feet.
It must be difficult even for Altberg to accommodate the shape and expectations of everyone. I have difficult size and shape feet, large and wide, could not get anything to fit from off the shelf manufacturers, was advised by one shop (not an Altberg supplier) to try Altber and it was the best advise. Absolutely fabulous boots, great service and a perfect fit.
