I’m a great fan of shopping at Booths, but my nearest by bus is Chorley that doesn’t have a café. Living in Bolton, I have travelled directly by train to Clitheroe and tried the new café there a few times. During 2020, I started travelling afar in my car and had a Booths breakfast at Garstang. Very enjoyable; (I took a picture to send to my brother so I know it was in October 😀) two halves of a large grilled tomato, half a dozen small mushrooms, one hash brown, two slices of bacon, TWO SAUSAGES, baked beans, a FRIED EGG, two slices of brown toast with as much butter as you wanted, as much salt and pepper as you wanted and a wide range of sauce sachets, again, as much as you wanted, with a mug of coffee. I can’t remember the cost, but it was enjoyable and filling. Recently, I tried the version you had, but at Clitheroe. A slice of black pudding used to be an optional extra, but not now and, to be blunt, with no fried egg, I can’t stand scrambled eggs - to me, it was a huge disappointment, and only one sausage to boot. They describe it as their signature breakfast - a hearty breakfast. I’m sorry to say I still felt hungry afterwards.
The ratio of tomato to bacon and sausage would have left me unsatisfied. I’m not greedy, but one sausage and two small pieces of bacon is not enough in my opinion.
We went to our local spoons here in south shields, 4 large breakfasts, double everything, a veggie burger and chips eggs on toast 2 pints of fresh orange and 4 unlimited coffees, 46 pounds, very good value for money, and it was rammed yesterday
hi lee thanks for another as usual great video on booths quality produce at a reasonable price good to see stokes sauces on the table .at the look of the plate you enjoyed the breakfast.have a great week lee. wes /belper
The eggs are scrambled, because they're easier to keep warm without the customer being aware, than fried eggs are. You can't keep the yolk runny for very long when you keep fried eggs warm. Then you said it came out quickly? So the whole breakfast was precooked and kept warm I reckon.
This was always going to be a redemption arc vlog , in this day and age blows my mind how booths survive. The one near me in Ripon is always full of the country set. Rip off prices to keep the riff raff away…using the centre Parc’s model 😂
I love that you epitomise everything that is sweet and lovely about Northerners. I enjoyed one of these full English breakfasts only 2 days ago at my local Booths. It was yummy.
Hi Lee; you never made it to China town nyc; oh well maybe next time; I can give you a great restaurant. But Lee I wanted to say that the days we are living in are not like the 1960s; it a very Crazy world now; and I don’t think it is safe to drive across country in USA anymore. And you should be aware of that; and I know your family needs you.
Food looked really good, I would disagree that’s it’s a high quality establishment, menu looked tatier than a bad Wetherspoons , but looked nice enough . Yet again another cracking video mate 👍🏻
It's the Sir John Barrow Monument on Hoad Hill - I was watching your EV vid and thinking you spend a lot of time at Backbarrow and then you pop up across the road from me. Even got my house on it.
Thanks Lee. Fried eggs much easier to cook than scrambled eggs....scrambled need more time and attention. Is it pre cooked and kept Warmed? Re the timing.
In My local little cafe (agnews blantyre) a full breakfast with 2 sausage 2 eggs 2 black pudding ( or 1 black pudding and 1 haggis) 2 bacon 2 hash browns beans and tomato with tea or coffee if under £10 and absolutely stunning good service and great quality its small but very friendly
I’ve had breakfasts at several places over the last few years. My biggest grip is that they don’t seem to cook bacon or sausages long enough. The fat on the bacon is almost raw and the sausages only brown on two sides. Almost raw inside. Back in the day the bacon would be crisp and the sausages cooked all round and through. As for fried eggs it pisses me off when the yolk is hard. I do like a dippy egg.
Love Stokes mayo. Tomatoes on the vine are always good. We shopped in Booths when we were in the Lake District last week, great shop in a stunningly beautiful area.
🇦🇺👌☺this place is awesome .i love the breakfast you got .10 out of 10 no complaints here . I see they use Lancashire cheese ,my number 1 cheese i buy imported from England to Australia it is the best.
'Another fine mess'is a film remake of an earlier film Duck Soup. The catch phrase Ollie uses to Stan is 'That's another nice mess'. Stan often said 'Well, I couldn't help it....!'
We have 2 Booths in Lytham and st Anne’s and my mum used to love it there too AND that tomato sauce would have gone in her handbag! Fair price for quality breakfast. Xxx
The definition of theft is “ dishonestly appropriating property belonging to another with the purpose of permanently depriving them of it “. ( your Dad would have known that definition) . As the sauce was provided and paid for there is no dishonesty and technically the sauce is yours as it’s paid for.
They knew you were coming. The teacup and pot are a match with your shirt. Taking the leftover sauces is not theft, but people who take them often have a drawer full that they never use.
I've seen and heard good things about Booths, which sadly remains mainly a northern concern. If their breakfast is anything to go by, they are on to a good thing.
Love Booths, try a cheese and ham toastie lovely thick crusty bread, your breakfast looked pretty good, tea is nice there. Also Booths do nice shopping bags with quirky logos on them . Also they have quite a bit of local produce. Nice views you have there.
Personally i think thats really good value for the quality of food. It would be less at a greasy spoon cafe, but then it wouldnt have the quality and catering sausages. I think Booths are great value, looked good
Lee a couple of local places I'd recommend in North Notts , Arrow Farm Shop just outside Worksop and Torworth Grange near Retford probably the best in our area

Wow one of those guys in Hi-viz was just digging for gold, just before Breakfast
Looking at your trip to Lands End and your comments regarding the 60 MPH limit because of pollution a test case at court would be interesting interesting
Good Evening Lee. I really liked your choice of Establishment to go back and see what they are like. It should be of Top Quality and really Good value for your money. They would have had a Full Crew and Chefs in the Kitchen. Plenty of Lovely dishes to choose from on there Menu. Your Beautiful and very Well Presented Breakfast looked Incredible Lee. All of your Food items were cooked to Perfection. Good Quality pot of Tea to go with your Food. Really Gorgeous and Modern Restaurant that you sat in Lee. Lovely clean and tidy tables i noticed. It was a Good price to pay Lee. I would Score BOOTHS SUPERMARKET/ RESTAURANT!!!!!!. 12/10.
The restaurant probably tossed that ketchup packet in the trash. It is ok to take it home. It was served as part of the breakfast! Curious to know what would have brought that breakfast up to a 10/10? Portion size? Scrambled eggs being the only egg option? Would a poached egg have taken it to a 10/10? What was lacking?
My mum alway took the sugar in cafes in packet then when on day trips would used it with the tea they took with then . Her hand bag was full of uesfull thing for trip out in the summer holidays
A nice tasty breakfast Lee, a little to much for me, although i enjoy medium poached eggs for brekky.. I would leave the tomato sauce satchel behind 😉 😉 Au
Try Jeera Spice in Morley (near Leeds) if you can't finish your meal, they'll put it in a bag for you. Never had a poor meal there, and they filled that bag for me when it was my birthday. Take any booze if you want it, and a big problem for you, cash only, but it's cheap. 😂👍🥂👍🤣
Tea or Coffee should always be included in the price of a breakfast..can’t believe the price people pay for a coffee from the high street outlets in Europe the price of a good coffee is one third of UK prices.
Teabag. hot water and milk at a table. £2.80. Coffee £ 5. FFS Lee, please stay real. Tea anywhere at £3 in the UK is a disgrace unless at the Ritz. But coffee at all outlets is a pure rip off and they are taking you for mugs.
Well another good video and food looked reasonable to me so agree with your score. Lee have noticed you dont wear your tea shirts these last few videos is there a reason for this ?? Regards Keith x
I like Booths. Normally if l'm out cycling l'll get a Spoons breakfast to carb up, but if l'm going near llkley l'll go to Booths. It's about twice as much cash but IMO, twice as good, so l think it's worth it. 👍
The one time I was in England, and I had several English Breakfasts. I had scrambled eggs with each breakfast. Now I wish that I hadn't done that. I would've preferred fried or poached. Just looking at your breakfast, it appears to be delicious. I bet those little tomatoes are crackin'. Judging it on looks alone it has to rate at least 8.0 I'd just as soon give it a 10.0.
You made me find britishessentals that can ship to US. Stokes, HP sauce, all good. what is the best brands to get for malt vinegar and mushy peas? anything else this yank needs to get?
ive seen a bigger theft at ulverston booths when the guy in front of me put everything but his 6 bottles of wine through the checkout put his shopping on top and just walked out gobsmacked lol
Hey so its you that used to nick our cutlery when i had 3 restaurants ?? I was forever buying more and i wanted nice ones ,in the end i was going to do an itinerary when clearing the tables😂
When your back in Pudsey try the 'box kitchen' on grangefield industrial estate. I went once and thought it was a bit pricey but the quality was very good.
Personally I think it's a expensive but that's Booths. Also I don't like tomatoes on the vine. I prefer the farm auction mart cafés especially Auction Eats at Brockholes Auction near Garstang. Always good value and reasonably priced.
