I wanted to let you know I am a complete beginner and have successfully made 3 pairs of these for holiday gifts. Thanks for such an easy, adorable, beginner-friendly video!
I had the same issue!!! It looked like Herman Munster's Bootie! I halved the number of stochastic in the original circle and then made the number of rows before the heel based on trying it on my foot. Hope that helps.
Something I found helpful for those with smaller feet is to decrease the amount of rounds before getting to the heel (i used 12 rounds excluding the first 3 starting rounds), as well as slightly decreasing the stitch count for those rounds from 27 to say 25. I would put the sock on my foot to gauge how big it was
Chain 2 Or mc 8 sc in mc 8 Inc Inc,1sc 1sc in every stich 18 rounds Chain 1 turn 18 sc 10 rounds Chain 1 9sc turn inside not outside (10:00) check video Slip stich in every stich Now turn its gonna be shaped like ur leg Now work single sc in rounds Until ur satisfied FO Weave in the ends Make another one for another leg 🥲 but enjoy
This is such a simple design and I love it. Your explanation of how to do this has allowed me to make any size slipper with any size yarn. I can easily custom make a set for all 6 of my grandkids for Christmas. Thanks so much!!
Did I miss in the video what size foot this would fit? And how would u adjust to make it larger or smaller? Sorry, if it's obvious. I'm new to crochet.
Hi Carla and sorry for the late reply. It fits a size EU 38-41, US 7,5-10, UK 5,5-8. My best advice is to measure it while You´re making them. Hope they turn out amazing. 😊 /Vibeke
I had to measure! Because when I did 18 rounds the slipper could fit a giant. Lol. My ladies size was 6 inches before the heel, so 13-14 rounds. Then I followed the pattern in the video for the heel (10 rows and closing the heel). My mens size I had to increase the toe size to 30 instead of 27, as 27 was too narrow for the man's wider foot. Then I measured the lenth to 7-8 inches, i forget how many rows i ended up with, but the heel i followed the pattern in the video. They turned out fantastic! I used a 6.0mm hook.
Mine also came out very large. If you stop increasing at the round with 16 SC and follow the pattern that way it fits better. For the heel part do 5 SC back and forth if you use this size.
Very nice pattern. I haven’t made slippers in ages. Love the cuff. Would be cute with a decorative button on the outside of each and/or a little pom-pom or tassel on top of the foot. 🙂
Hi there. Yes, that could actually be pretty decorative. I have thought about getting some personalized leather tags to add on some of my projects. Maybe I should look into that again. Thank You for commenting 😊 /Vibeke
Omg you are the best! I’ve been knitting and crocheting my whole life but struggle with the turns. You really explained it better than I’ve seen… or maybe it just finally clicked. THANK YOU
These slippers are so easy! Thank you so much! I am a beginner and you made the instructions easy and slow enough to follow. I'm left handed so life is hard enough. My first pair and they came out great!
This is a really easy tutorial, thank you so much! I really enjoyed it. I followed the directions but kept having to pull it apart to adjust for size or else they would have ended up way too big, I think my yarn was chunkier.
I’m stuck. If you have 16 stitches and you’re repeating a pattern of 3 stitches every 2. That means there’s 3 stitches for 8 repeats. Thats 24 stitches, not 27? Is my math wrong?
My rows look a lot longer than hers too. She says do 18 rows but she does not have 18 rows. Then when she says do another 10 rows, I counted 8 on hers. Her math ain't mathin
Hi , thank you for sharing this project. The only thing is that the 3rd row(2 together in same stitch and 1 stitch the next), the total stitches will be 24 and not 27.
I was confused about this as well but theres a comment she made that you just keep going till 27sts, it's a bit more than 1 round! What I found was a little easier was for my brain to comprehend: Round 1: 6 sc in first loop of chain (6 st) Round 2: 2 sc in each st (12 st) Round 3: 2 sc than 1 sc (18 st) Round 4: 2 sc than 1 sc (27 st)
This pattern is amazing!! Took me about 30 minutes per shoe. Super easy to follow and also easy to add or take away a few rows to make a custom fit for different sizes. I love it !!
I've been having a problem with the stitch count. After the second round I have 16 then when starting round 3 I end up with 25. I've repeated this process many times and still off. My first slipper round 1sc 9, 2- DC 18 , 3 round I had 27. Slipper turned out nice.
Im glad they turned up Nice 😊❤️ Im working in spirals, so I dont think about rows when Im increasing. I just increase until i have enough stitches, even thoug its the next row 😊
Glad I read this cause I was having the same count problem with 16 stitches to get the 27 (I was getting 24)But that makes sense if you just keep going to get the 27 needed stitches

At the beginning from the row with 16 stitches to 27 stitches I was totally confused. I am crocheting with a stitch-marker and with 2SC then 1SC, I always counted 24 instead of 27 at the end. After drawing it in my notes and watching the video over and over again, I understand, that you should crochet further than 24 stitches… I mean from 16 stitches added one round with 2SC and 1SC, you do come to 24 stitches. So just crochet a little further than one round. Or am I totally wrong? I am again confused.
Hi Mary. You are not the only one who is struggeling with this, but You really should not be putting to much into it. It is because the slippers are worked in Spirals, so at the end You just continue till you get to 27 :-) Hope this helps? /Vibeke
@@DivingDucksCrochet Hey again, so I made two now (yes I took my time :D) and one is tooooo big. Do you have any tips how to "make it shorter"? The foot is too big. When I wear it, at the front it wobbles around :D ..So any idea how to fix that? If not, I will maybe open it again. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for a great pattern! I love these booties!!! Super easy and fast and so comfy! I have small feet so used a 5.5 mm hook for bottom portion in all single crochet. I used Big Twist Hush (bulky 5) which works up a bit stiffer than the Bernat so I switched to a 6.0 mm for top part and did all double crochet on top. Great instructions and easy to follow. Think I'll have to make a few more for family holiday gifts!! Ordering my Sock Stop from Amazon today 😀
Hi Holly! You´re very welcome and I´m so glad to hear You liked it. I´m sure Your family members will be happy about a pair of these and the Sock Stop do help. Happy holidays to You. /Vibeke
I just learned recently how to crochet. I learned mostly from your video's because you explain so I can understand. Thank you. Can you tell me what size foot are these booties going to fit?
I just start this slippers for my 92 year old cousin. She can wear them in bed when it gets very cold..thanks for your explanation you are so good at it . Blessings.
great tutorial, I've been making these for years, but finishing each row with a slip stitch and a chain. Like your way better, because you don't see the end of the rows. Question, what size shoe/foot did you make these for in your demo? They look quite big, I usually make them for a size 38 or 39 shoe size.
What size did you make I don't know if I need a bigger or smaller pair......plus I want to use chunky wool to felt them so I need to know what size this video is????
Ich habe ne Frage zum Material. Ich hab eher große Füße, also EU Größe 40/41. Ich bin da doch etwas skeptisch ob da 150g super bulky Garn reichen (für zwei Booties?)?
Amazing video! In the beginning, I had respect for crocheting socks, but thanks to this tutorial, I started to enjoy it! I have a question, though - what size foot were the socks in the video made for?
I have questions, i had a friend who size 41 but im crochet add bigger kinda like a 2 sc, inc then I realized its too bigger. Please help how to size 41
I've tried other tutorials and your tutorials are the best by far. You're such a good teacher. You speak slowly enough to follow and explain the steps very clearly. Thank you so much!
I'm a beginner crocheted and I made the booties using your tutorial! So so easy to follow and understand!! Thank you. I do have a question...I would like to make larger sizes for my sons. How would I adjust the pattern. Thank you again
When you get to the part where you're doing 2sc then 1sc, right after you have the 16 stitches, you can increase the number from 27 stitches to 29 (or more) by continuing the pattern until it's wide enough for your sons' feet. If they need to be longer, when you get to the 18th row, you can keep adding rows until you get the length that you need. You'll have to adjust the rest of the tutorial accordingly. I hope that makes sense. Good luck!
This is not a beginner slipper ive crochet more yrs then i care to remember. Her math is all wrong and a beginner can absolutely not follow. I can and i quit on to another slipper that was right this one you have to guess. No thank you
Hello Crochet Vibe, This is the first time I had watched your video, I like what I saw and you made it easy to make slippers, I had check many but your video was the easiest, I will continue to follow your videos. Thank you so much & God Bless you 🙏🙏🙏
How do you adjust to make this for a smaller or larger size foot? I was hoping to make a uk mens 9 but there are no tutorials since that's apparently quite large
Hi! I want to learn how to crochet and I thought why not make nice socks for my parents. My dad has much bigger feet then my mom, how do I know/learn how many rows I have to do? Is there a trick?
Wenn ich 16 Maschen in 2.Reihe habe, davon jede 1.verdopple und jede 2. einfach häkel dann ergibt es doch 24 Maschen und nicht 27🤔 oder habe ich einen Denkfehler?
This made me realize how LONG my feet are 😅😅 (I mean, I can't find shoes in a normal store, who am I kidding) I kept on adding lines, and lines and lines haha But thank you for the tutorial
Hi Cindy. I have the pattern on ETSY, but it´s the same size as the video. ⬇️Pattern available on ETSY⬇️ rb.gy/yjwt9x I do have a kids version as well on my channel as on ETSY: etsy.me/3CStoCt So try to adjust it from them :-) /Vibeke
I was wondering what size this video makes? I’m going to make a pair for myself and for my husband but I don’t think there’s a size in the description! Thank you! ❤
Does anyone know if a pattern very similar to this one but instead of 2i only want 1 but big enough for both feet, sort of like 1 big foot mitten, just to lounge around in watching TV or whatever, snug enough to be warm yet big or stretchy enough so you can cross your feet inside if you want?? What would you search for a double footy or a foot mitten or?? Thanks
Thankyou so much. I made these for my daughter and added a cute little button to the ankle fold. They were so easy and quick to make. Everyone is getting a pair for Christmas. I wish I could upload a photo
Hi Teresa. Not all people crochet with the same tension, so my advice would be to measure you feet as you go to adjust if nescessary. 😊 Hope the video was helpfull after all? /Vibeke
Hej!
Tusind tak for din søde besked.
😊 /Vibeke
Love the tutorial very easy to follow but i was just wondering how to make them bigger because while my yarn is chunky it is definitely thinner than yours? Much love regardless really appreciate the tutorial and if nothing else I can give these little fluffy booties to someone’s kids
Madam I have to turn around and tell you what a wonderful job you did on explaining I haven't had one person yet on RU-vid explaining detailed by detail and being slow about it and have us beginners understand what you're doing I thank you very much for this and I have subscribed to you but there is one question I need to ask you and that is I wear a size 6 how do you determine what size slipper to make or it doesn't matter I'm a beginner at crocheting thank you again for teaching us how to do slippers
This is a little older video but I really want to make these so I will need to figure out how to get the size. I need to get started now so I can get 5pr made. Someone please help. I remember that my grandmother made me a pair 40yrs ago. She used a piece of paper and traced my foot. I'm not able to do that.
This is just at one size woman. If you are doing different sizes, I would measure the foot like she did with the paper and then try increasing in the beginning until it fits around it😊
Jste velmi krásná žena a máte krásnou holčičku. Zdravím♥️😘🥰🥀
