@@almighty_demon_slayer9563 I believe whenever he did it was due to sloppy drawing, not that he is meant to look like that, cuz at more defined shots the eyes are normsl usually
I really enjoy this series! The fakes didn’t look as bad as I thought but you are right there’s more monetary value and sentimental value out of having a real limited edition statue!!
My pockets can't afford the real things. So I would have to buy the fakes that don't look good. Buy what you can afford don't splurge on something that you don't need but want.
I'll be honest the bootlegs aren't half bad given they cost 1/10th the of the original, At the end when the two madara ones are placed side by side it took a me second to figure out which is which
Yeah for the price it looks worth it. I think that is most figures or statues in general. You tend to pay more for some but they basically have more detail in them which is also what you paid for. If I paid more than a hundred for that fake one though I'd be pissed which is why I can see people being angry about that.
@@KiusJa I don't think If somebody's binging anime all day (like me) probably doesn't have a proper job and isn't able/don't want to spend 100s of dollars for a statue even if they are my favorite character. Also, I'd definitely spend some money on clothing but definitely not on statues tho.
Honnestly I could probably learn how to make my own sculptures cheaper lol. If it was a life size statue I might spend 500-600 dollars. I could buy so many things alot more useful for that much money.

the truth is that the difference between the bootleg and the original is brutal! At least looking at them closely because from afar the truth is that the copy is quite well done, the bad thing is that it seems that they are painted with their feet haha.
I feel like the bootleg ones kinda take the fun out of putting together the statue. It’s nice seeing the statue come together as you putt every thing in the notch’s
i mean i bought some bootleg versions i had to put together for around 20-30$ legs hands head capes weps just gotta look for the right ones ii say for 20-30$ for just a statue compared to like 300+$ is a world of diff on the price compared to the diff on the statue honestly if im not seeing it move or have lights or some shit for a legit 270$ increase for somthing that will just sit on my desk and collect dust id go for the bootleg ones lol but thats my opinion on it
I've gotten a replica/recast statue one time, and all I gotta say is, never again lol. Really enjoy this series and it always just reinforces why resin will always be the king in collectibles.
Completely agree nick!! I have only 1 recast statue but it’s made of Resin and not pvc. But even with the resin they use a cheaper one and the water has cracked and splintered on the statue. authentic all day long lol

Depend on where you buy some fakes are actually very similar to real one. I got a fake naruto ninetail sage mode for only $60 and the colouring, details and material are as good as real one
Well if those little differences make 200-400 dollar difference I can't see any reason not buying the bootleg versions. Except supporting the studios who make the original figures of course. For collectors it's probably better to buy the original because they do have value but for the average person that just wants to make their room look a bit cooler why not buying such a bootleg version which costs around 50$.
Bootlegs are getting better and better. 7:08 - get a custom high detail head instead and you got a pretty good deal. Some color and shading fix and the rest of the body is very close to the original. I got a bootleg Deadpool and it is pretty god damn impressive (Deadpool breaks the 4th wall) Sasori tho its pretty bad overall. It doesn't stand near the original.
There is indeed a big difference between the heads but there is 270$ difference between the fake and original Madara...Personally, for this difference, I think the fake one isn't that catastrophic.
I agree the real ones are better but with saving 270$ I could paint it and add more glue/materials to make it looks better and still save my self 250$ 😂
A lot of sites say they sell the real ones but I never believe it. I'm really scared of buying a fake one, since I'm from Europe it will be very expensive with shipping and extra fees. I don't want to pay a lot and recieve a fake. So I just don't buy statues, but I really want to. These Naruto statues are all so nice!
it does not matter if it is authentic or bootleg as long as you are happy with it.. at the end of the day it is ur childhood memories that matter.. would be happy to buy authentic someday though.. and this inspires me to work hard and smartly
I like how so many people state that they could repaint and add more glue to the cheaper ones to look “as good” as the authentic one but let’s be honest, most won’t do any of that.
I mean, when u pay 30 dollars, you should expect that it won’t be amazing, but if your a BEGGINER for collecting figures go for the bootlegs first so u don’t blow all your money to find out you don’t wanna collect figures
I really enjoy this series! It’s neat to see the comparisons and note what changes from authentic to bootleg. Such great detail and proportioning in the authentic statues. No matter how cheap those decent looking statues, the authentic ones are still worth getting. The quality is so satisfying, and the value are going higher even if it's already been out of the box. I used to buy bootleg but after trying the authentic i immediately lose interest on the fake one and gave it to my friend.
I’ve bought a few what I thought was the official version once (they uses the official picture) and when I opened my statue and saw the quality I almost fainted XD. Love ur vids Bam!💪
Technically, ABS and/or PVC are plastics, with ABS being more tough and durable, and PVC more flexible, and they're what most figures are made of. Unless it's a limited polystone, hard craft resin or some other expensive material limited edition, most companies will stick to these two. They are by no means as inferior as you seem to believe. Maybe you were thinking of PMMA, which is indeed inferior, as it's quite brittle and not quite suited for figures.

Absolutely obsessed with Sasori which is why I’m sad I got into the anime late cuz it’s almost impossible to find an authentic Sasori statue oh well bootleg it is I guess
What are your thoghts about artists that make really good resin models, painted manually, but without official license? Like they are selling a fanart, but its really really good, some times creating things that doesnt exists on official figures
There's plenty of bootlegs that look nice including the face, for example figma 422's bootleg and those who buy them maybe arent collectors and cant spend alot but just want a figure of theie favorite character and getting a cheaper bootleg is better than nothing..
I would love to be able to buy authentic statues! Even though I’m unable to, I still haven’t brought any recasts/bootlegs. It does make me feel inadequate to be unable to get statues of my favorite characters lol One day I guess when I’m not a teacher on a teacher salary
My advice if you buy the Chinese version only buy it if you have plans to repaint and fix most of the issues. usually that what I do buy it if it looks like it ok overall I take it to a friend and he is sands them, fix most imperfections and repaints them and replace the eyes because usually the eyes are pretty off. by the end with labor I pay around 100. But it's always cheaper than the original by over 100 dollars saved if it's a 1/4 scale I save probably around 200 all his works look better than the original version.
The fake one doesn't looks that bad tho. That's why when I bought fake figure to save money I bought figures that has no face. Pyramid head and bubble head nurse looks as good as the original. It has some less details on the body on his back but it's really good. As for my recent figure which is paimon she looks really good that I can't even tell if she's fake. I mean genshin impact is from China so there's that.
It'd be a lot more interesting if you're gonna get a high quality knock off instead of a bootleg as it is already a given that bootlegs are bad imitations of the authentic one, their goal is to rip off money off of you while high KO's aim to replicate the authentic one, like to give you a budget version of the auth one and they put a lot more work in details and such. It's just a suggestion as I actually bought high quality KO's to compare them with the legit one but what happened is that I ended up being impressed with the high KO's and I would like to see your reaction when you get one. Not saying that high KO's are better, the auth is definitely better but the high KO's are not that bad, definitely not as bad as the bootlegs you're getting or purchasing now.
