Liza Grossman is an absolute treasure. She has a permanent invite to the cookout! So much to love from this video: the pizzicato at the beginning, the kids absolutely smashing the vocal bridge, the shot of the background singers’ silhouettes during the “Wind Me Up”chorus, Bootsy’s wardrobe, and the audience “soul section” stage right! I concur with everyone here. This video has brought "tears to my face," because these children are experiencing a staple of African American music with the innovator and genious of funk; and because Bootsy was a part of my youth. He sounds as awesome now as he did in the '70s. As the kids say he is the "OG". Reign on Bootzilla!!!

Big Ups to Bootsy for giving his time and energy to the children, I just raised him up a little higher on my Legend ladder. What a meaningful way to introduce children to the FUNK., I can only hope that they were able to go to sleep that night, cause once you've been exposed to the Funk, you have to have more and more. It is an addiction.

I grew up with Bootsy, Parliament Funkadelic, Earth Wind and Fire, Kool and the Gang, Mandrill etc., playing in bands in the 70s playing at block parties cabarets. School orchestras back then played popular music. Had to endure the lean 80s and 90s. Bootsy is one of the survivors, he sounds good and is giving back. These children are getting the chance to play Bernie Worrell's synth lines. That's cool.

In 1978, when I was 10 years old, I heard this song when it was released, and it turned me into a Funkateer for life. I am SO happy to see these kids around the same age playing this song!!! ALONG WITH BOOTSY HIMSELF!!!??? WHAAAAAAT!!!!?!?! SO COOL!!! SO LUCKY!!!

What better way to bring the funk to children...I just introduced the PFunk to my former preschool student (we're neighbors now & he's 13) he can't stop listening and we've just hit the surface. I can't wait to introduce him to Cameo, The Bar-kays, & Con Funk Shun! The funk lives and the world is a better place for it baby!🙏🏽💖😊✌🏽 BTW: Check how young Bootzie looks! Liza Grossman and Bootsy are to Be Commended as I've watched this almost a hundred times Fascinated by the different reactions of the Kids Orchestra and the Baby Background singers of all Races, Notably for Me ( Mrs Grossman looking up at Bootsy's Singer Saying the ( Don't Let That Little Girl Cry Part ) at the 8 second mark ).. (The Young Man/ Violinists to the right/back of Bootsy and him Smiling at the 24 second mark coming out of the intro ) like a Kid Opening his presents on Christmas Morning.. (The Young Lady Violinist to the left of Bootsy - 1st Row Jammin on her break at the 1:04 Mark ).. (The Baby Girl Funkateer with the Sunglasses on in the 1st Row Balcony ).. And ( The Other Girl Funkateer in the 3rd Row just to the right of her with the Greenish Blue ribbon/ tie Really Doin Her FunkyThang ), On and On, All Genuinely Enjoying Playing this Funky Music including Mrs Grossman.. And So well put together from the Harpist playing the intro in place of the Original lead guitar, Another Bass Player with Bootsy and more tastefully / Creatively done additions.. I mean every Orchestra instrument is incorporated perfectly as if it were in the original Cut Or even a Better Version of it.. Masterfully, Creatively and Funkfully done Mrs Grossman, Bootsy and Fabulous Kids 👍 👍 👍!!!

I’m from Cleveland and I was a teen when Bootsy put this smash hit out in the late 70’s. It would have been cool to saw him at severance hall (which is just up the road from where i grew up) or perform with him there. Those kids are fortunate to have been able to hang with him. I saw him live out here in the dmv in 1992 and 1993 when Parliament-Funkadelic performed at DAR Constitution Hall.
