Been popping since 78 and danced disco in my fathers bar prior to that. This is the most profound piece of video instruction i have ever seen on our dance. A totally diiferent perspective that has been perfected for several decades now. Thank you so much for posting this. I have work to do.
Dre is one of the best, a bopper (as distinguished form a popper), and this lesson is truly a gold mine of knowledge. Catch all the minute details in his dance (watch his hands). It's nuts, even with this grainy footage.
Thank you for posting this. Andre's the man. If anyone is curious about the origins of Sinbading look up a guy called Ray Harry Hausen. He was the original OG dynamation man. The 7th voyage of Sinbad. Check out the characters he made and how they move. This was in the 50's. Peace : )
I don't understand what is Bopping... Other's demonstrate as a robotics, like Boppin Andre did this video. Other's demonstrate as a popping through your knee cap.
It’s not popping your knee at all. This video shows bopping - while there are other flavours from other crews it is all very similar to what you see in this video. This is bopping.
Never forgot when I first saw 'ticking', blew my mind totally. Still gets me to this day. I've only seen it on video too. Would love to see it in the flesh.
I know what boppin is now. Been training in it this past few years and going back to this video I still learned something! Andre is truly a well of knowledge!
Anyone have any examples of Andre doing the hitting illusion technique he showed in combination 2? I think I get it, but it'd be cool to see it used in a live battle context.
Been Popping since creased Levi's and white converse 79 Baby down in Memphis TN with a cool brother named James Tucker who showed me how to moonwalk, backslide and leaning 😊.I became real 🥶 at it and ran with it !😊
Ooof that ‘s OG - I was born in 79…..started about 8 years old so 87 for me - second wind of popping I think. Nobody in my Uk town was a popper I had to work it all out from the movies!
@@StuffAboutStuff ☀️ you're super great at it and sure enjoyed seeing the skills and thank for sharing with all of the world . Peace beloved brother keep shining.
To me it looks like making the 3 techniques of the robot smaller makes up bopping.. Half stepping the 90% angles on a stop in a ticking form, making the tick smaller and making the bounce stop smaller...
crazy head the robot originates from a Czech play from 1920. That is where the idea of a human pretending to be a machine originates from. Mimes in France began using it as a character piece soon after. (Mime goes back to Ancient Greece). But a dancing robot - well the style of a dancing robot originates from California as far as I know. Did any mimes do a robot mime in time with music before that? Yes. Almost certainly. But the robot dance we know today originates from California
Charles Robot that was the original robot from Cambellockers 1970-71 he was original Robot that came from Chicago he had a group called "the robot brothers" 1967 in Chicago Shabba-doo said he's the first he saw him do it! Next robot was Slim Robot that took his place. But im sure just like we all did watching mimes, movies, films,n toys inspired us to develop our technique.
Myron Bledsoe he’s teaching the foundation of a style. You’re supposed to do your own thing from there. He taught Madd Chadd this style. Nobody looks like Madd Chadd.
Tremendously ignorant comment. How is bopping commercial? Very few can dance like this. Madd Chadd, LA Bopping Crew, Robot Prince, Tangerine. Either you can or you can't? Ever heard of...practice, Iverson?
