Legendary vacation destination for all human beings - Bora Bora is the real deal! Staying at the InterContinental Thalasso... we had; gorgeous water, iconic photo opportunities, and were hangin' in an overwater bungalow. We explored the inner and outer areas of the island with the best tour experience ever and did I mention the gorgeous water - you just have to see it for yourself!

We went from mid to late April - the transition month into the dry season. April and November are shoulder months - good weather, less tourists, and a little cheaper than the peak season. We really enjoyed visiting at this time... the only real bummer is there are no whales during April.

Thank you so much for sharing your trip and experiences! I so enjoy your photography and videography. My husband and I spent our honeymoon last Nov at IC Thalasso. Bora Bora is truly extraordinary and we cannot wait to go back some day. Next time, we plan to spend some time on Tahiti and Mo'orea. All the best to you both!

Thanks Tammy... appreciate your comments and happy that we got to experience the same resort as you and your husband. We were very impressed and excited that it wasn't one of those destinations that gets overhyped - totally legit!

Obviously the outer Pacific side is rough, rocky, and has waves... but, the inner lagoon is like a giant salt water pool. There are so many different water colors due to all of the different depths - lighter blue equals more shallow and darker is deeper. The Resorts are built in great locations for all to enjoy. At the InterContinental Thalasso, we had large areas that you could wade from ankle to waist deep. They also have a private pond area where they are growing coral and you can take a dip in there with different depth ranges (water was crazy warm in there - around 90 degrees). We were jumping off of our bungalow deck which had a depth range around 5 to 6ft deep (depending on the tide and your bungalow location). We did go paddle boarding, kayaking, and swimming out past the bungalows that can get about 10 to 12ft+ deep which you probably want to avoid, but it was still calm and didn't have any crazy currents. One note to mention that I didn't expect... they have pretty sand, but if you go in the water barefoot, just be aware that there is a bunch of little broken pieces of coral all along the shores of Bora Bora (at every beach) and it can hurt your feet. You don't ever see people in videos running into the water there for this reason. Resorts try to rake it up in little piles, but it just comes back naturally. Let me know if you have any other questions... if not, have a blast on your trip.
