@@zyncra3965 I think the problem was that his aunt apparently did not come forth and corroborate his story. If she payed for him to come visit why could they not find her? I mean, either he needed to know where to go or she would have had to arrange for someone to pick him up at the airport.

I also feel bad for him. But do you understand why he was scrutinized? A ticket was bought a day before his travel by his aunt that he did not seem to know much about, he has very little money on him for the duration of his stay, he did not have a return-ticket, and there have been a lot of drugs that came from S. America through Trinidad and other Caribbean islands.

Some are really nice. I forgot to declare my dog when I flew back into Canada (I didn't know I had to declare her because she left Canada with me) and the agent said that technically they could take her for a 40 day quarantine (and they could) but they cut me a break and let me leave the airport with her

@Mitzi Miau some immigration officers would just let you go especially if they check your background and they're satisfied with their investigation. We went for a vacation to UK before and aside from the cards that I got, I forgot that my cash was over 10k usd. They questioned me then they asked how long am I going to stay for my vacation. It took me 15 minutes before they let me go.

These dogs are usually fed with drugs and once they become addicts. 2-3 days prior to searches like these, they they dont give them any drugs so they become desperate. Thats how they immediately find drugs, as they badly crave it. Thats the true reality unfortunately.

I am appalled by the agents’ carelessness in exposing the traveler’s cash holdings in a public area of the airport! They have opened him up to be targeted for mugging, once he leaves. Even if his cash is confiscated, some opportunist may assume that he has access to a significant quantity of funds, and may follow him upon leaving.

@Andriy M. Sometimes they do. My mom remarreid three times (widowed once, divorced twice) and my dad remarried twice (divorced once then widowered). I'm not sure if I'm supposed to count the ex-mother-inlaws or if I count my father-in-law's new wife after he divorced my mom? It gets kinda complicated after a point. I'm not entirely sure if all my sisters and brothers are legally my siblings? I kinda just go off of who was part of my life the most (I'm in my 50's now), but the law doesn't care about who acts like a parent just who is legally your parent.

Gotta be really careful with the allowances. I had $10,000 on the dot coming into the US. Got stopped by customs. Literally had $11 from another trip crumpled up in a small pocket in my suitcase that was there for months. I was lucky once I proved my finances they let me leave but they could've seized it because of a couple fives and a dollar bill.

OMG, that was so grossly unfair on the fisherman... He was a very willing passenger and willing to do any test they want and passed them all and they didn't let him in.. Disgraceful. For quite a while I didn't know what my sister was working at until i asked her.. I knew even less about what my aunts did as we weren't that close. Whilst it may be a little out of the norm, it does happen. That is shameful, they had no basis to deny him. It could have been a once in a life time holiday. That cheek of that smuggler with her baby, who dared to get cocky and say.. what game @2:04. The man only got 18 months pfff

After clearing customs, next stage immigration was not convinced there was good faith: his one-way ticket Trinidad-London (with zero return ticket/onward journey ticket) was purchased by a "friend/relative" less than 24 hours before the flight departed. He couldn't name names or occupation of person who arranged his air fare. Unless it was a family emergency/death in the family, very fishy circumstances

In the U.S. they stopped using those test kits, specifically because they are inaccurate. If you put fake sugar like Splenda into one of them it will come up positive for Amphetamines. This is why it is now required to send evidence to chemists before charges can be properly applied.

I can understand why some people would be reluctant to declare that they're carrying large amounts of cash, even when/if it's legitimate. They don't want Customs to decide, potentially, whether they can keep it. Perhaps their money gets seized and then the owner has to go through a long and perhaps costly process to get it back. Also, when a passenger is in possession of less than £10,000, it annoys me when Customs asks about it. The law is, apparently, that only amounts at or above £10K must be declared. Customs officers may be curious, but it seems to me like it's none of their business. I would love to hear someone say to them "I decline to answer. And I also decline to answer why I decline to answer."

They have to right to count and verify under 10,000 pounds, too. Just by looking at it, it could be 9,900 or 10,100 or 12,000, for all they know. People lie.

Everyone who travels is perfectly aware of sniffer dogs conducting searches. If you are allergic to dogs you are just as likely to have a reaction from sitting next to a dog owner on your flight.

@@davidmellish3295 and some of the world's best strains are legally bred and developed in Spain, legal to buy in the u.k.(for novelty purpose ONLY lol) and grown all over Europe and with l.e.d. grow lights that use little electricity and give off no heat, it makes it nearly impossible to detect, so more people are growing than ever. Taking that type of risk for brick weed that's full of seeds?😂👏
