I had one too, SPARKY. I had him for 14 years. He was so smart, so loyal and protective. Loved the water, swam in the bay...thank you God for giving him to me. Right I just want to rescue a dog, any breed, mixed, just a dog I can love, a forever home for sure. 🙏
I have a 15 week old puppy at moment, shes at the bitey when excited or tired stage, not settling and taking a long time to toilet train but apart from that shes a sweetheart, she gets a lot of compliments due to being a Collie, hope she turns out like yours!
Thanks for making your dog have fun to it’s fullest potential. 👍🏼 We have 3 BCs. All rescues. I’ve had several before these. Imho., best dog on the planet. They need special people that can handle their energy and intelligence. No doubt. Our oldest currently is 15. Fading slowly. Deaf and blind. But still manages to sniff his way around our acreage. You’re doing your dog good. I’m kinda old but I plan to train a purebred BC like you’re doing before my time ends. Mine currently are super happy, active, and loving. Still, I want to train a pup next, like you 😊 Good job! ❤
All potential new owners of border collies need to know that first, the dog IS smarter than you are (once you accept that you can work in tandem to learn from your dog as you share its love for life....and train/entertain both of you.....second, the dog needs to have a job with many challenging tasks.....third, your new lifelong canine companion needs PLENTY of affection and attention and to know it is loved....fourth, once you have provided that love and affection, your dog will do just about anything to please you and to work with you, providing you continue that same high level of love......fifth, your border collie will need the same level of nutrition as you have provided that same level of love.....sixth, your collie will need that same high level of challenging physical exercise, but note that it will recognize your physical limitations and politely wait for you to catch up.....and seventh, whenever your four-footed friend does what you have expected of it, you need to provide the same high level of praise and physical affection.....with no harsh words or acts, other than looking it in the eyes to transfer your positive energy to it, face to face, eye to eye....with your voice further applying that high level of verbal encouragement and PRAISE......eighth, your canine companion will need a soft, warm and cozy place, at your side, to rest as you snooze, trying to rebuild your lost energy.....your collie, being smarter than you (number ONE), will gladly snooze, yet keeping its both ears and senses alert to protect YOU as you rest.......for the best results in your lifelong love of your collie.....REPEAT numbers ONE through EIGHT......(many times)......and reward your companion every time it makes you smile.....!
People who don't know BCs think it's hyperbole when you say "the dog IS smarter than you are," and that you're just trying to say BCs are smart. But those of us with BCs know you mean what you wrote!
@@redwolf2065 You're not asking me, but I think if you move away from him and ignore him if he bites, he will stop this as he gets older. He's pretty young now.
She'll train you if you don't train her. Don't leave a border collie alone for long and you'll be a great owner. They go insane when they spend too much time alone. I miss mine so much.
We lost our 14-year old border collie Mandy in December 2018. It's a pleasure to see others enjoying these wonderful dogs on RU-vid. My comments on Mandy are here: www.thechristianreview.com/will-our-dog-mandy-go-to-heaven/
My dog is a black and white border collie and his name is Odell. He will be 7 on New Year's day. We don't but would love to do freestyle. We have multiple herding championships, do obedience, rally, agility, dock diving and barn hunts. But freestyle escapes us. Your dog is absolutely beautiful. ❤
There's just something special about that black nose on that white muzzle and that white tip on the tail .... and everything else in between.... that endears Border Collies to me. I had one from November, 2009 to June 28, 2013. I love you Sally. 🐶❤🐾 Rest in peace my dear girl.
We had our Bella for 17years and she was a great Border collie. Now we have a new puppy named Leia. Princess Leia. We have high hopes for another wonderful dog.
I hear people commenting on Border Collies being smarter than their owners. That is not true at all and everybody know that I am a very smart person and I constantly try to trick my dog all day long and supporter card I hide things I make puzzles I do stuff so he has to think about it and work it out and I love challenging and and yes they are very smart. I am constantly thinking of ways to Creek Inn or outsmart in I dream about me and I do things to make him think and consult me sometimes I do stuff when you look at it and try to figure it out and I'll come to me and ask for a hint so get the money up and then you go back and work it out and when you finally figured it out he always comes back and jumps at me and throws his paws in my chest like I did it and I love it because he knows he figures it out and he wants to put it in my face that I did it so every day something new but always challenge is intelligence. That's what you need to do if you have a very smart dog like a German Shepherd Malinois or Border Collie and they love you for it and they expect it try to challenging hide things from them leave little clues for them to figure out what the next move is just please if you have a very intelligent dog they will love you more if you challenge them to work things out and try to use their brain instead of their Brawn and their agility they love to work things out in my mind you can see it in your eyes you can see it in the tilt of your head are trying to figure something out just watch and let them figure it out it is beautiful
I Have Border Collie 2 Year Old bUt She Died Two Months Ago She Saves The Old Woman Walking In Pedestrian My Dog Pounces To Old Woman To Forcible Evade The Dashing Truck A Dashing Truck Hits My Dog Severely 😭😭😭😭😭😭
TheDailyKoda hey my border collie is a 1 year old female and she is only a little bit over half the size of the dog in this video.. she is healthy and happy but can you or anyone please tell me why she isn't big and fluffy :'(
Koda is so tiny for a border collie and isn't fluffier either. some dogs just don't grow as much and since your pup is a female she will be on the smaller side. Koda has her summer coat now which isn't as thick as a winter coat. it all depends on the dog so I'm sure you have nothing to worry about but as your pup grows she may fill in more meaning more fluff will come (which means more shedding, LOL!) you can see kodak size and her fur type in her videos :))
TheDailyKoda oh true :) but either way Koda is always still fluffyer than my narlah .. narlahs coat is always down and looks like it's just been brushed except her tail and her neck .. everywhere else is short straight along fur and its sad coz I wanted the traditional sagging flowy beautiful long fur border collie... ah well either way my narlah is gorgeous and I love her regardless :) thanks for your input :)
I have a 10 week old BC and he is adorable. The only thing is though, he does a lot of biting and snapping at us. Not chewing and mouthing but snapping with a growl. It’s horrible. We have tried all of the positive rewards each time we see good behaviour, removing ourselves etc but they don’t stop him. People say it could be overtired but he does it when he wakes up after a long sleep too. Any advice?
