I guess you are following my build?? It is a beauty!! I recommend you all watch the video where I fit the cockpit decals.. lots of tips there... The cooling jackets on the guns were not able to be machined so they have given you full size barrels but without the cooling holes, again I have made a video on using the Master Barrels.

@@NigelsModellingBench Was only told the other day you had got the BM Lanc' kit, I will make it a quest to get taking it all in what you are showing with the BM kit, I've got one on order with a UK shop, so hopefully nothing will be broken, I've built some swines of kits in my time but looking how the turret glazing & canopy glazing is made of multiple parts, they will be a nightmare to glue up. Keep up the great work.

The taped box was standard for early production kits, apparently BM have now redesigned the box to make the lid deeper so the tape is not required?

When I started looking into this model I was like nah the price is too much, now I'm looking at it after this review seeing the insane amount of detail packed into the model and I'm thinking I need to grab it for the stash as it's definitely above my skill level right now

Thanks for your review and an Aussie update on availability. I ordered mine, apologies not through you as I’ve only just seen your channel, over a month ago and was told “maybe by the end of this month”, which doesn’t look like is going to happen. So I’ll sit back and wait a little longer. It appears to be definitely worth the wait. Thanks again for your update.

Seeing the "short" box with sprues sitting proud, gave me shivers. Can you imagine the possibilities of damage to the sprues and the integral parts? A box like that would not cost very much at all to be made in the correct, "parts-saving" size. As I used to sell boxes of all sizes, before I retired, it would cost perhaps 1 + 1/2 to 2 cents more per box to be safe in the idea that your model would arrive free from any damage. Even if they wanted to use these undersized boxes, a simple added liner is all that is needed, but, ironically, that would add 5 to 6 cents per box to the cost. As they say in construction, (and sewing), measure twice cut once. Whoever gave the original specs to the box manufacturers, apparently didn't measure but once. Such a shame for such a marvelous model. When you were showing off the details on the sprues, on Sprue L, the bomb bay ribbing seemed to be damaged. It looked like a small section had bumped up against "something" and had gotten squeezed, bendin some of the fine details. It can probably be fixed without too much trouble, but it didn't look very good. The part I saw was just before the 23 minute mark of your video.

I've almost completed it and my criticisms are that the instructions are nothing like as comprehensive as we were used to with WNW. I would have appreciated colour call outs for detail because their researchers are better than me! Also, although the fit of the parts is exceptionally good, it's difficult to get the engine cowlings to fit around the engines (though the fit on the dummy engines is perfect). Also, the major assemblies are so large that any distortion can make assembly difficult. I found that I often needed to remove the locating pins that WNW carefully provided as they stopped the model going together. The problem with joining the front fuselage to the main fuselage is well known. Overall, a massive undertaking but a wonderful kit. Overpriced? Not really but they could have spent a bit more effort o the instructions.

Wonderful video on the model’s extraordinary detail. Beautiful. My question is how is the “fit.” With a kit of this size do the parts come together without a lot of cutting, sanding, putty and so forth. One small mistake by the builder will put the entire kit at risk at such an expense. Thank you.

Hi , I liked the review not bad at all you can get the crews displayed on the box from A C Models in resin at this scale , treaded tyres from Barracuda models online , Nigels modelling bench is the only one so far actually building this kit so far we are up to episode 9 , what I have sen so far is the instructions are not all that good it is subject to interpretation, finally just get us the kits .

@HobbiesAustraliaTV 2 года назад
Hey Gary, we have been watching the same series and you're correct the instructions could use some work, as Andrew kept harping on about "measure 4 times cut once." seems to be the way to go with this one! The positive is the kits are finally moving however will still be a little while before we can get these in Australia.

In box reviews are all well and good but it’s how well the kit builds-up that really matters. Even more so in this case due to the very hefty purchase price. I’m never been one for investing without certainty, therefore I’m out on this one!

Your windows and window frames are broken? Are able to get replacement clear sprues?
@HobbiesAustraliaTV

This was picked up when I first went over the sprues. There are some blemishes on the transparent parts that will need to be buffed out and a product like Deluxe Materials “Looks Like Glass” will enhance the finish. An email was sent to the manufacturer about this, and the reply was sprue(s) would be available

Great subject. I could display one of these or 10 1/48 scale kits. MMMmmmm, let me think. If I go big, it's a ship. If you do run into any issues, Nigel is the place to go for education. I do love the feat, but, not the wingspans. I do not own a 1/72 scale B-52 for the same reason. Or the lack luster of a 1/32 scale U-2.

It is definitely not a kit for the faint of heart! If you get a chance to see this kit in person the sheer weight of the kit helps to understand the price. There is SO MUCH plastic. I for one can't wait to see one of these completed.

A great kit almost like a museum quality replica with the fine details and distressed skin detail and is very accurate in its representation . But a problem is with this kit is you can't do wheels up . The wheel wells are moulded in onto engine nacelles so no wheels up options is very disappointing as its very expensive kit , I think its way overpriced . HK versions, both the dam buster and this version in same scale 1/32 is less than half the price now can be purchased for $399AUD. Is the extra $600AUD worth the distressed skin you get on this kit , and extra riveting details ? I thinks they should have price it around $495AUD to $575AUD and not $990.00 AUD. With respect to U Tubers influences many do get to review and build for free or discounted trade wholesale rates .

3:29 praises the decal sheet, then completely misses (ignores) the spelling errors. WTF is FULE? Honestly, the decals are probably the worst I've seen in a model kit since the 1980s.
