Borderlands 1 was perfect because it balanced serious and comedy and was not constantly insisting upon itself 2 was amazing and still had that flavor but when 3 happened it flanderized itself

If they write the story with the depth of New Tales , make the little shit Ava the central character of B4 and again set some cringy millenials as villains - then B4 is truly fucked. No matter how good the gunplay will be.

I didn't even know they kept the same writer to the borderlands 3 story on board and have him work on 4; that's an immediate sign to wait for sale/cancel preorders. The writer and Ubisoft staff both share that weak tolerance to opinions and insistents to perpetuate undercooked, diversity stories; like they were what the community wanted.

Randy said they were listening to the community during the Pax announcement for BL3 as well. Then it launched without skiappble cutscenes, without much set drop farming, with worse boss invincibility phases, and with worse visual pollution. Proving that all they really heard was the sea of casuals demanding the hardmode not actually be hard or require any mechanical depth.

Those cosplayers looked like the “before” versions of those characters before their weight loss journey

X-COM, Battleborn, and now Risk of Rain. what's up with Gearbox fumbling what should be easy dunks? at this point, I'm fairly certain that it's intentional so that nothing can out-shine Borderlands.

A company saying "We prioritize our employees health/wellbeing." or "We prioritize our customers health/wellbeing." means nothing to me. Every company ever says that, but many treat employees badly, and in terms of customers many companies are actively poisoning them with chemicals that shouldn't even be allowed in the first place. It's all just empty words. Also, him saying this will be the best Borderlands to date.. even more empty words. I felt nothing when he said that. No excitement, no joy, no hope, just.. ok. Only time will truly tell. There's a good chance a year or two after launch we'll be hearing about how "Borderlands 4 was rushed", "Borderlands 4 was destined to fail", or something along those lines. Hopefully not, but.. y'know.. it's Gearbox.

Let's not ignore the Rakk Hive in the room. Randy is distracting us from the lack of Gameplay footage. Randy got lucky once & has failed spectacularly trying to follow it up.

The spent an hour an a half waisting everyone's time and still leaving us in the dark, gearbox seems to be all deaf while we scream at the top of our lungs. We got absolutely no info at all besides the recent releases in the franchise and that scares everyone. I just hope they get randy out of the writers room!

"All I want, is for borderlands to make me feel again" this is so true it hurts. We can talk about what game we started on, which was our favorite, what npcs we love, but when push comes to shove, the BL scene has been... not alive for a while. Bl3 has the greatest gameplay, gunplay slightly over rated, (I miss the Jacob's kick, and hyperion reverse kick), but story wise we're starving. If they miss this storyline and humor, I'll never buy another bl game again.

I have the theorie that they also knew that the movie will hard flop. So the only way to keep the series somehow alive was teasing borderlands 4. Which was basically just an idea at that point. God, it was hard not to jump outta my own skin watching those fat cosplayers and the audiences reaction to everything. What a waste of an event and what a waste of time for any of the actual fans. If they've been working on this since 2019, some sorta gameplay or cinematic trailer with depth is to be expected 5 years down the line. I Knew in my heart of hearts that the hand picking up the mask was probably the eridian from TPS , especially because elpis was in center focus. I’ve really never understood why Joltz has never made a video saying “if you want change, we can make change together”. All he does is play bl2 and bitch about not enjoying bl3/ttw but doesn’t do jack shit for the community. At the end of the day, big content creators like Killersix and Joltz have tons of power in terms of influence and voice. But they don’t use it and they continue to glaze and protect Randy and Gearbox as a whole. I’m not even going to mention big-eared fuck Epicnng, and how toxic of a content creator he is, always stirring problems and acting tough behind a computer screen. Theyre all just a bunch of sellouts who can easily be bribed/paid for their opinions. Admittedly Killersix did make help make some changes in bl3 but in the end there’s been more harm done than good.

Even though I've got 1,000s of hours collectively from all the borderlands games, I don't go inside the borderlands world on youtube much. And I like that you give a very honest and open take on everything that's happening borderlands, even if it might come across negative. Your sentiment about where the direction borderlands is taking is one I very much share also. Keep doing God's work and keep us informed without having a filter. This series needs more content creators and fans like you to get this series back in the right direction. As Henry Cavil has said before, it's not toxic fandom, it's passion. I found the full upload of the borderlands movie on RU-vid. I’m a massive Borderlands fan, I couldn’t make it 10 minutes into the movie.

Right on time, I can't wait to watch to get your opinion. Edit: After watching, there's one big glaring issue - everything seems rushed by Gearbox. It seems like they're panicking after the movie release. Rightfully so, but these half-assed, group project-esque public displays are not the solution. None of this brought forth any confidence in Borderlands 4's development. It just confirmed that the people who produced the worst games of the series are returning. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over while expecting different results. Not only is this insanity, but add delusional to the list. Hopefully, they see the errors of their ways, & make a 180-degree turn. If not, then it was fun while it lasted (10 years ago)
