Boreal Designs ABS repair  

This kayak was damaged at the rear cockpit from a heavy impact. There are large cracks and micro cracks through out the damaged area, so fiberglass with Structural Acrylic Adhesive is applied to the underside of the deck and filling the cracks. ABS and HDPE plastic are resistant to adhesives, not all adhesives are compatible with plastic so we must use a structural acrylic adhesive or formulated epoxies for ABS plastic. Products used in the video are listed below. The surface is then sanded and polished to remove any adhesive and UV stabilize the area.
