You assembled the shade inside out. The interlocking tabs should be visible from the inside. The way you did it results the tabs visible from the outside. That is why the instruction shows the direction of an arrow facing out.
I was BORED I was looking for a video to watch and wondering if DTM dropped a new one. Then I saw that you did. It's ingenious the way they pack large products into small boxes these days. The lamp looks nice for the money. Enjoy it!
Midway through the video when it said "roll it, roll it, squeeze it" I thought Ikea messed up and gave you the instructions on "How to Make Sushi" 🤷. For $7.99 it's not so bad. I would have been frustrated after first ten minutes and returned it for some swedish meatballs.
