@kookiesandtae Well, I saw the first season and started second season, and the latest one became a chronicle about who was in bed with pope. So I stopped liking the series. Maybe most people thought the same as me.
@Valentino have you watched the version of canal + its much better and the actor who play cesare is so fucking good so charismatic and what you have said you are totaly right
+Nathan Shardelow They barely got to the height of their power at the end of the 3rd season. Season 4 would have shown their downfall. The way it is, it just kind of leaves you hanging there.
+TheFluffyDuck and it didnt even get a satisfying conclusion. thats what bugs me the most, all these amazing characters and they re all left hanging mid air :(
+Ezra Daßer I find that to be a load of shit. If there is a freaking Medici show now, the studios can certainly afford to bring back the Borgias for a decent ending and not that Apocalypse b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t. I mean look at all of the fan made movies being made on crowdfunding and/or shoelace budgets. It's not like they couldn't borrow costumes. I wouldn't give a crap if they wore recycled costumes (since that stuff is pricey). And the CGI? Could be outsourced to an artistically talented freelancer.
I'm back working on a few more tracks after a long break due to work commitments...so keep an eye out over the next few months...if you have any suggestions on track feel free to leave it in the comments
+Snazzy Snafu borgia became pope, which, back then, was as good as god when it came to royal matters. with gods permission, that phrase wasnt included for fun in almost every coronation-speach. and borgia made full use of that privilege, marrying his daughter off to nobility, putting his sons in important positions. a pope, putting his CHILDREN up for the whole world to see! if thats not brazen, then what is it!
I recently discovered your Trevor Morris's "Tudors Main Theme Extended Version." Now "Borgias." I love both! You certainly have an excellent skill! Thank you! Are you familiar with Trevor Morris's "Vikings"? I'd like to hear an extended version of "Attack on Paris", from Season 3, Episode 10, "The Dead." If I could find a way to have all three on CD so I can repeat and play them in my car, I'd be in heaven! Again, thank you for what you do.
What in the fuck was wrong with Showtime when they decided to cancel this stunning masterpiece!!? It was one of the very best shows that literally lasted the least amount of time for the talent involved the director wizardry the biographical accuracy of one of the most gripping and epic families of all time with such an exact depiction and rendering of such a unique group of individuals in history with the attention to detail, the plots and twists of the story of what actually took place amongst why the most powerful and influential institutions existed on the planet at that time and now even the corruption, the politics and the inner dynamics of Rome at that time not to mention the immense drama of the Borgias themselves and of the Medici family too and changes in the shifts of power possessed by the Catholic Church at that point that was as legendary and had captured the human spirit, witnessed the struggles, trials and tribulations of the world on so many fronts and under so much volatile turmoil is so incredibly interesting and surreal and so much to it for them to of ended it like that and didn’t show the furthering of it all after that is just a shame! Jeremy Irons as one of the most interesting and complex Pope’s in history and Cesare and Lucrezia simply stole the show in every aspect leaving us all on the very precipice of wonder and excitement unto the next show and just ran with it!! It’s too bad we don’t get to see what happens after Cesare because the story only got more and more incredible and mesmerizing from there on!
-Sharon of the Dance- they made another show so similar Avon Netflix, not as good, but thus was a true crime, these companies turn out popcorn movies like Disney, and it’s such a shame, plus I’ve noticed some films had better effects in the 90’s 00’s than today, D Park, the first one. Something is up, building are made as ugly as possible, not to expand the mind nor imagination, very nicely put may I add.
It would seem they have done the same with The Medici;s. Only the early flowering of the family is shown not the later breakdown and corruption that the family became. Why do they tantalise us like that.
@@-sharonofthedance-6245 Whatever stringed instrument is played, and I know very little about it, I would guess it is the juxtaposition of the Spanish sounding instrument, with the vaguely religious choral work that places this theme head and shoulders above almost all others. It is so evocative of the passion, intrigue, colour and brutality if the period .... absolutely faultless. Love it. 🙂🇬🇧
Whatever the case; this in fact is not Spanish guitar it was performed on a fine German made Martin mandolin although it sounds in contrast to Spain and of the Spanish guitar sound and keeping in step with the Borgias being Spanish in origin nevertheless it is most certainly not a Spanish guitar or of a Spanish guitar style even, it is however it is similar to 12 string acoustic Spanish stylization of guitar fingering techniques it in fact is still not the same rhythmic flow and body of composition as what a mandolin can produce as opposed to the Spanish guitar style of playing. But I agree it is extremely innovative and it completely captures the essence of the show in its entirety! 😉👍🏻
It’s a shame. This series was cancelled, and the Netflix version was great, I thought this was better. I didn’t like the other version that run a little after this one, this music was and is awesome at the begging of the episode.
What that they killed there way to the top?? So like everyone else back then who was forced to do this in a society as rigidly stratified as medieval europe??? Why should they feel bad about the crimes of ancestors that died centuries ago? Especially when all the plotting came to not. The Borgia Dynasty as it was died not long after it was created.
Still plugging away at those tracks...thanks to suggestions and comments must have 20+ projects on the go at once now...will get round to finishing off at least 3 or 4 before the summer...stay lucky all
Everyone keeps saying that or suggesting that but I don't understand why or why they would be ashamed. It's common knowledge that renaissance/medieval europe was a cutthroat and ruthless place. It's common knowledge that medieval popes and the medieval catholic church was very very corrupt institution. What secrets could they possibly spill that people or historians don't already know?
Does anyone know what kind of music this is called? I love the chanting, but mostly when I look up "catholic music" i get the monks doing a simple tone, not this. Any help?
Ezio is just a fictional character from a video game, this series is based on REAL people and real history of the Borgia family. No way would they include a fictional video game character!
I know it's a few years now,but cant they make the other 3 series and 2 films that Jeremy Irons said they had lined up.This was so sumptuous to watch.Medici 1 and 2 on Netflix is ok,but The Borgias was a masterpiece.Bring it back!!Crap they show on telly these days.Didnt like Borgia, unnecessary swearing, very Germanic, crude, and an American bad actor pope. This was classy! There was so much more to the story.London
I dont like the charakterization of Alexander VI. - they represent him like an lucky devouted idiot who just survives because the brilliance and deviousness of his son Cesare. I think Alexander VI. was the real Genius and the source of Cesares advancement, but they be guided to much by machiavelli's "Il principe".
You want to know what the difference between Pope Alexander VI and Pope Francis is? Well Pope Francis is kind, genuine, understanding, patient and merciful. As for Pope Alexander the VI, he was corrupt, dishonest, had no decency. As for having several wives, that's really messed up. Pope Francis would never anything like that at all.
And Pope Francis may have collaborated with the military juntas and he is just a centrist, only because he says the most obvious things doesn't mean that he is just some progressive Pope, hell, there is evidence that the only reason why he was chosen is to try to clean the image of the Vatican meanwhile they shove their dirty laundry under the rug.
Pope Alexander's egotistical behavior reminds me of the current US President, Donald John Trump. Both men have abused their power for their own pleasure. You know what they say, "With great power, comes with great responsibility."
Who U. S. President didnt abuse their power since the times of George Washington? That at the opposite of most U. S. citizen believe he was nothing more than a rich oligarch.
Dude Alexander IV’s corruption and treatment of the Papacy as a political institution more than a religious one was fundamental for the fall of Catholic influence in Northern Europe as well as the expansion of Spanish and Austrian nobles in to Italy, which would be seen in the height of the Habsburg and Bourbon dominions. Not to mention his addition to the Treaty of Torsadilles especially gave the Spanish and Portuguese blessing to genocide the natives. And that’s just Rodrigo alone. Cesare and Lucrezia are completely different stories.
