I grew up in a predominantly white area, was the only black girl in my grade. Thank the Lord, another one showed up in the third grade and we have been best friends over 20 years. Movies like Love and Basketball and Brown Sugar gave me some great memories. They made us laugh, cry, and feel a part of the culture. Classics.

Soul Food was phenomenal! Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be available on any streaming Platform. But it’s such a great body of work, I decided it’s something I should own a physical copy of. Bought the entire series on DVD on Amazon. Their chemistry on that series… you ‘knew’ they were gonna end up together.
