I install a custom exhaust using a Borla Pro XS on my 2008 Sierra 5.3, Sounds awesome! no 3rd cat, no resonator, Factory manifolds and y-pipe. #borla #muffler #5.3 #exhaust
I don't have a link, but it is a borla pro xs, 3" in and dual 2.5" out, the 3"in is very close to the diameter of the stock exhaust and any custom exhaust shop will be able to make it work. Installation cost was about $120 including both tail pipes.
I really hoped it would it was still there right at 1700-2000 rpm. I changed the exhaust set up like 4 times. I ended up putting a quiet muffler on the truck and I love it. I guess that means I’m old.
@@timbarnhartjr4293 Made me chuckle, I was the kid in high school who was always known by what I drove because it was always LOUD or lifted and usually both. Ever since I've refused to own a vehicle with stock exhaust. Fast forward to a few months ago I bought a 2013 Silverado to use for work and of course I started looking at videos to see what mufflers sound good and finally settled on what I wanted. Fast forward 3 months and its still got the stock muffler on it and I'm actually enjoying it hahaha. About your in cab noise issue, the reason it was so loud inside the cab is likely that you were hearing the exhaust directly in your cab via the air vents on the back of the cab behind the seat. I can hear a lot of road noise from mine so I imagine with the turn downs the sound was bouncing right back up into your cab.
