Born Free is a movie based upon the book written by Joy Adamson about herself, her game warden husband, George Adamson, and Elsa, the orphaned cub lioness,they raised while living in Kenya.the Adamsons eventually faced when their time in Kenya came to an end, forcing them to decide whether to place Elsa in a zoo, which Joy opposed, they decided to teach elsa to hunt and fend for herself so that the domesticated lioness can survive in the wild and have a free life

love this movie. was actually looking for music video for the song by kid rock but happened upon this movie. i watched it and told my dad how wonderful it was. then he told me that it had been his favorite movie when he was a child. lol great movie really sweet. :-) Elsa darling! Elsa!!!!

So much has changed in Africa, it’s not the same anymore. Lions aren’t loved, they are used and abused for Trophy Hunting and the evil Can Hunting Soon children will only see them in Zoos from a distance and on the walls and floors as mats. Love and Respect for Lions is gone now 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

After watching this movie I was so inspired to keep a few lions in my backyard but the old lady living next door gave a blood curling scream at my idea when I told her , guess that put paid to that :(

this is such a feel good movie, just the thought of raising a lion cub is so cool, but i know it is not an easy thing or probably safe thing for just anyone to do!! I love this stuff, i am such a sucker for a love story and that is what it is eh!!

Why? Nothing bad happens at the end of this movie. It has an Amazing ending! The only sad part was that Elsa had to part from Joy and George Adamson but they taught her how to survive out in the Wild and she did. “It’s alright. It’s really alright. She’s done it, she’s crossed the bridge. She’s Wild now and Free. You’ve... You’ve done something no one else has ever done and you should be Proud.” George’s words to Joy. Touching, Emotional and Happy ending with a little touch of sadness but that’s it.

Actually malaria is not as it has been described. There are several species of "Plasmodium", the protozoa which gives malaria. Some can be lethal, some are not. Most of times Malaria is like a flu. In East Africa you mostly have the latter (Plasmodium vivax), it is very bothering, but not lethal. In West and Central Africa you mostly have Plasmodium Falciparum, which can give the so called cerebral malaria, lethal in many cases. But there are treatments.
