He likes his guitars with an emphasized midrange and complimentary high end. That just makes certain breakdowns sound "aggressively Palm muted, and was completely unintentional. Generally, it's not a good idea to argue with the artist about what THEY sound like and what sound THEY, as the composers, intended. That would be like trying to tell Bach that he is actually a classical era composer and not a baroque..... Like come on Bruh, find your chill
There shouldn't be any more songs released until the album comes out. Sumerian did this with Veil of Maya's album and when it was released we hardly had any new songs to hear
+Bitterend6 Matriarch has slowly evolved into my favorite album by them! I think it has to do with the new vocalist, so much more variety to his vocals than Brandon's.
im so fucking glad to see them keeping forward. ive been listening to them for about 7 years now and they're getting better and better, they've always kept their style. but improving as they go. im just glad to see them making new music

Yep. From this point on, this song is about a guy whose significant other leaves him over a FiFa game, and all thats left is 'Pictures and Memories' which I assume are his screen shots.
the string muting in this is interesting, had to tell if some of it is just figment of the producer (computer generated) or not..if it's all real than holy fuck! if not, it still sounds Hella cool, I wonder how they would do it live though
+Kinnzie Martin I'd say how they'd do it live is that the guitarist moves his right palm further up the strings and timing his left hand right to make sure the chug doesn't ring out. Also maybe a tremolo pedal/effect. But lets not say that the production didnt help :P

For anyone wondering, the new album is killer! I've listened to the entire thing and it's an A+ in my books. It's not as technical as the discovery, but it's certainly on par with it as far as how effective it comes across.

I'm glad the guitar leads have progressed beyond cookie cutter taps and sweeps. Shit gets dirty there at the end at "Pictures and memories", and I love how they brought the shaker overlay back for it too.
I'm expecting to hear a lot of the new material at Knotfest...and as much as I would rather hear TNR in it's entirety, this has got me pretty stoked. Cheers BOO. Wish you were on mainstage!
Listen to this on a high quality speaker in a room. When the music can separate a bit you can really hear the entire track here. This is a beautifully intense and wall of sound song. Can you here the little electric synthy bouncy lick bouncing on the top of everything during "I've lost myself again...stuck in a free fall.." ? It's faint but awesome. And the massive lick after with the pinched. Just a great song. One could take this as a chug chug song....and it kind of is, but there is so much other shit it's way better.
