Actually Borobudur is not in Yogyakarta but in Magelang. And Prambanan in Klaten. But foreign tourists are more familiar with these two places in Yogyakarta. Nice video Renata, can't wait for the next video

There's a famous folklore in Indonesian people, that is Prambanan has a romance story There was a general who fallin love with a princess called Roro Jonggrang, but the princess doesn't love with him. Then she ask the general to build a 1000 temple in one night, to proofing his love. After one night, the princess count the temple and it's just 999 temple Being deceived & rejected, general angry and curse the princess "It’s missing one, and you should fit the numbers” End. That wasn't a love story, Bandung Bondowoso demand for Roro Jonggrang to marry him for he betrayed and conquered her father's kingdom. Boastful, Bandung Bondowoso says he defeated Jonggrang's father easily, he can fill any demand she want to , he was sure it wouldn't be any harder than to kill her father, and if he fill it,she must marry him. Thus the 1000 candi request as above. And Bondowoso didn't do it himself, no, with his shamanic power he summoned dark faes to do the job of building the candis for him. Of course, who would be willing to marry the man who kill your father? Knowing that the dark faes fear the sunlight, Roro Jonggrang starts grinding the paddy with the grind, and the rooster start crowing , as usually women grinds paddy at the morning, so the rooster thinks the morning is about to come too. Panicked as the rooster crowing, thinking the sun is about to rise as well , the dark faes all disperse,leaving one candi unfinished. Bandung noticed it was Jonggrang who grinds the paddies, and well, yeah, as above he's pissed and turned her into the last candi. Speaking about Bandung, near the mountainous city of Bandung, there is the Tangkuban Perahu (literally means flipped boat) mountain, that has similar legend. A trained warrior, Sangkuriang, lost himself in the woods and found himself under the care of a woman called Dayang Sumbi. Mesmerized by her beauty, he proposed to her, but she refused, for he is-wait for it, is her biological son. Sangkuriang denies it, claiming it's impossible. First, he has no memory of being raised by her. Second, she looks too young to be his mother. Dayang Sumbi explained that the scar on his forehead was caused by her striking his head so hard with the rice scooper and it was possible he was amnesiac due to it. (she did it in a rage fit after the boy killed his hunting dog, who is a shifter and also his father-uhm yeah, this part is weird, but can you blame the boy for not knowing his hunting dog is his dad?), and that she was blessed by the gods to maintain her beauty. Here's the similarity. Sangkuriang insists he can do anything, and Sumbi's ridiculous one night request is that to make a huge lake, and an ark to cruise in it. Of course Sangkuriang complies, and then do the same as Bandung, summoning dark fey to do the job. Sumbi also does the same as Jonggrang, botched the project by grinding the paddies so the rooster crows and the feys disperse. The pissed Sangkuriang kicked the unfinished ark far, it landed flipped, and then it becomes a mountain, the Tangkuban Perahu mountain.
