That brief back and forth fight at the start of the episode with Boruto and Kawaki was fire. When they were eating dinner it reminded me of the scene where Naruto & Sasuke were eating trying to see who can eat the most and they were both like "I want more" in the Land of Waves arc. Their relationship definitely reminds me of Naruto and Sasuke back in the OG Naruto early episodes.

Y’all gotta realize that the first episode scene is still very vague. There’s no evidence that kawaki destroyed the village, it didn’t say he killed naruto , nor do we even know if he’s a bad guy . All we know is boruto and kawaki have opposing ideals and are fighting . Boruto is also wearing sasukes whole fit in that scene

Naruto doesn't necessarily trust kawaki but the reason he is taking care of him because he relates to him, just like how Naruto relates to Gara! Remember Gara?.. Kawaki reminds him of Gara and Naruto feels that what happened or what's happening to Kawaki is exactly what would've happened to him without Eruka or Jiraiya and what would've happened to Gara without Naruto because they all have the same thing in common which is a fucked up childhood and power that they didn't ask for because people will view them as monsters. From the village's prospective Kawaki is dangerous and unpredictable Shikamaru has the right to not trust him because he doesn't know what Kawaki went through.. But us as viewers we saw how his childhood was fucked up and you could definitely tell that he is not a bad person nor a villain he is more of a victim. And yes I know that he said in the first episode (I'll send you where I sent the seventh Hokage) But we still don't know what that means or even if that was really kawaki or someone else using him.. After all they keep calling him "The Vessel"

Boruto tried to kill his father like twice and his friends/sensei. Kawaki is doing all of this to protect Naruto because Momashiki said it himself. This is the first time I disliked Sarada's character. I understand that she couldn't trust him right away, like no one probably did. But she was kinda annoying and it seems like she didn't even try to understand how Kawaki might feels. I'm just hoping she start being more like Naruto if she wants to be a hokage.

Kawaki is an amazing character, the only reason you dont want to agree with that is because youre WAY too caught up over the Shippuden characters. Its an anime, they arent real my guy, Kawaki has quite possibly the most harsh backstory in the entire verse and as a character grows to learn about love and the want to protect what he deems important... The death of an OG character wont kill the show, that hasnt ever happened in any show ever. Itll just be idiots complaining about narrative elements that advance the story.
