I think that they are giving explanation in the anime to what the future may happen, because if you actually read the manga and watch the anime at the same time you will find many little details in the manga as lackluster, and that little details is a focus in the anime in which will be useful to the future viewers. IDK that's just my thoughts.
Also Boruto losing everything, what if they mean he goes blind specifically in one eye which is the jogan eye. That’s why he had it closed the whole time in the very beginning. Maybe if he opens up his eye, he dies, but he has to open it to defeat Kawaki and save everyone.

Ngl the Potential for boruto "shippuden " is basiclly limitless from what he have seen in the first chapter/episode and with all the build up in the manga at the moment. Boruto could really go down as one of the best manga ever, peopel need to stop sleeping on it.

Boruto is a sequel so it was expected to have similar lore and whatnot. But you can't deny it brought forth new lore to the universe such as more regarding the Otsutsuki, potential to go in depth regarding more of the clans as well as how the world changed throughout the years.
It's crazy how much Naruto has to get saved. Power scaling doesn't make much sense, him and Sasuke were able to defeat the creator of chakra now standing on par to genin with good genetics

Tony Goodwin there’s been other hype chapters but they didn’t contain boruto like the part where naruto gets sealed away and and sauske almost died or kawakis transformation but other then that and the delta fight the manga had been doing more character development for kawaki then anything

My theory: What if this Karma mark of future Kawaki works like majin Vegeta. You know who you are but you don't have control over your mind fully. The travel back to time arc w Sasuke and Boruto, Jiraiya knew all the time who they was, and at the end he protected him w spell when Sasuke used memory wipe, thats why Jiraiya gave them a smirk/smile. He nearly died at Pain battle, where the clan found his body and took him - healed/revived him where he probably lost his memory and sense of his identity. We know that Jiriayah had many students and possibly had kids but, what bothers me is that if Kashin has all these toad abilities and Rasengan wouldn't you think this individual would have been mentioned by the Toads themselves. You can tell Mikio Ikemoto is a big fan of bleach and dragonball z boruto otsusuki form is very reminiscent of ichigo hollow mask form design super raw asf and the fight panels are very akira toriyama like with the fight scenes in the manga damn near identical to the dragonball super manga fights(in terms of panel design and style)
