@@Ishallreignsupreme they were chunin level back then, hence, they would not lose to Shikamaru and Shino(probably close to Jonin level as well). But Gaara is different
After the original Naruto, it really felt like the non-main characters had a giant non-power creep jutsu placed on them. I remember Neji and Rock-lee being total badasses, and got shafted hard in Shippuden. In Boruto, Shinki feels like he should be far more powerful, but never really had a chance to develop because of the sheer amount of filler in that series.
I agree. But to be fair, Rock lee was never again on the same level after being injured by gara, which made sense. He was alrealy opening inner gates in like the first season 😂. He needed to be nerfed. Same for neji, after naruto whooped him, he learnt humility and stop chasing his so called destiny. The main point im tryna make is that these main characters had to fall back otherwise there wont be much room for the new characters to grow. The fillers allow us to see random interations with new /new characters and new/ old characters.

The problem with Boruto is that whoever wrote the story had no idea how Naruto universe worked. I can't fathom a sharingan user trying to use a genjutsu on a puppet. It could be that in Maruto all were better than Sarada but still this hurts. I stopped long ago.

Actually people compare Naruto with Boruto.That's why people want Boruto to be like his father.But it is good if the story is different.I think that's why writer has written a quite different story
