If someone says anything bad about this excellent video they are from another planet. This is the best video I have ever seen on how to fix a starter. Simply Excellent!!! Great presentation.

Love the accent! Very good videos - clear, concise, packed with all the info you need and easy to follow. Going to apply these *principles* to a ford focus starter (1.8 tddi).

Excellent video. This demonstrates that often what may look like a bad no click/weak solenoid is actually to do with the contact somewhere between the solenoid output and the commutator.

Great video. One thing I would add is to use a very fine grit sandpaper only. The one in the video seems to be very rough. What it does it leaves deep grooves behind which in turn eats up the new brushes way faster.

Finally, someone who knows not only how to produce an effective video but who also has the capability to communicate the intents clearly. This was obviously a German man speaking but I must say that I understood this man better than in any of the other starter rebuild videos on youtube. It's that German blood... its the highest intelligence that humanity has to offer.

@aleksandari.7834
@aleksandari.7834 5 лет назад
@@timothy790110 Sort of. The car was just clicking on the key. I changed the brushes, and did all the cleaning, but the problem was actually with the solenoid. So I kind of did some unnecessary work. However, after putting a new solenoid and everything refurbished inside, the car starts like crazy now. Though we still had to buy a new solenoid. :)

@@aleksandari.7834 good to hear! Im about to do the same to my renault master, at the very least i think ill learn something, but i will test the solenoid first! What were your symptoms? Did it sound like this? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x3QnY0iFPcA.html

If it had not been your video I would had a lot of trouble figuring out whty my car's starter works without the solenoid after I have taken it apart and cleaned it. Stupidly I changed the bottom terminal with power + terminal so the starter worked except the solenoid. On your video I noticed the right connection. Starter starts a little bit later than it used to I don't know why. Thanks for the upload!

Hello mate, You can find the link in the description,this one is for bosh starter, For the valeo version you have to change brushes only,they are most likely to be valeo D7R type starter,which you also can find in Ebay shop. All thou to change the valeo one is not so simple because you have to take the coils out. Takes me 15 minutes to do it,but still i am used to it :D.

Hello,I think the rotor has to be replaced as well, because there is a broken, raised lamella and soon it will break the brush holder again! Both rotor bushings and needle bearing in the front cover. Cheetah, too. On the switch the nut has changed its color, that is, it is overheated, so the switch is also likely to have a problem. :)The bendix remains, and if it changes the starter becomes - recycled and reliable for many years!That's what I would do! :)

Just a tip from a pro. undo the 2 philipps screw first with side cutters just to loosen them. Thats if you want to save them. Cool tho mate. When i was at valeo we used to put 100`s of comm end bushes in but from the other side , only because it pushed the old one out.

Great video. Very instructive. The 110 appears to differ from the model 214 which I have. I started by removing the long bolts and whilst the two parts come apart, it is only about an inch before it arrests. Any idea how it comes apart so that I can clean the commutator and check the brushes. This is on a 25 year old garden tractor and it starts a single cylinder Lombardini diesel engine. You comments would be welcome. Also, do you know of a good shop where I can access the parts required?

Great vid. I have a VW Polo 1.4 16v 2001. Lately my motor starter sounds wierd after the ignition but some times it works fine. I think it is the gears and some grease would fix the problem. However more and more often the starter won;t crank at all. Simply when i ignite, the lights go off and a sound of force is to be heard from the starter (a click) but stops and dies. Giving 2 or 3 tries brings the cranking and the ignition but some times it remains stuck. Battery seems decent. Do i have voltage loss or does the starter has to be removed and cleaned? Any ideas?

Very good explanation indeed, the only doubt is how to fit again the same set of brushes which is still in very good condition, because I have all the brushes out, no help by the plastic cylinder which keeps a new set of brushes in place. Thank you very much. Subscribed

An excellent explanation, but you also need to clean the process, clean all parts with diesel, water and air, beyond that it is better to flatten the rotor when it is on a standing drill, better on the lathe and there are several more tests
