Just remember, everything is referenced off of miter slots. First, blade s/b parallel to miter slot, then blade can be used as reference as shown in this video.
Thank you for a straight forward, clear and concise video of how to adjust the fence. I have only had the saw for 2 months but I noticed that the fence had gotten out of alignment and your short video helped me get it back into alignment. It only took a few minutes and when I squared the fence with my framing square and tightened the two small set screws as you showed in the video I was able to get right back to work. Appreciate you sharing this information in such a clear way.
hah, coincidence, I just bought one to replace a 30+ year old delta table saw I had that crapped the bed, to build some new sash windows. No problems yet though. Bookmarking this video just in case. I was annoyed that the fence ruler is indexed to the far side of the saw blade from the fence, needed to add 1/16" to the fence setting to get the cut I wanted. Otherwise fine saw.
tried this and would still get pulled out of alignment. the secret for me was to ALSO adjust the 2 screws that align the rip fence. Maybe this comment will help someone. the bosch fence makes me nervous of clamping out of square. do you still worry about it being parallel after posting this video years ago?
Just bought one of these recently and had a similar problem with the fence being out of wack when sliding back and forth. I’ll look into these screws to adjust what i can.
Really helped. Thanks. I have the same model. Have you ever had trouble with the motor/blade cetting stuck when you adjust it up or down? Whenever im cutting a lot of lumber or using a dado blade it seems to cake up
This happens to me as well, Jack. I just finished turning the saw over and cleaning and lubricating everything. I have a bag attached under my saw and I always attach a Dust Deputy powered by a 5.5 horse shop vac, but the saw still clogs occasionally and requires a complete cleaning. The hose to my Dust Deputy may be too long. I don't know. I'd like to hear ideas on preventing this problem and ideas on how to easily and accurately adjust the blade to cut at 45 degrees. I find the free swinging nature of the angle adjustment mechanism quite difficult to accurately adjust.
THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS TECHNIQUE - you should be adjusting the fence to be parallel to the miter slot.... NOT to the blade. Then you adjust the blade to parallel to miter slot.
