Great video. You've proven out some of my research and educated me on more. Great to see you wear eye, ear and respiratory protection. I see far to many shirking this responsibility to their own body. In addition to Makita and DeWALT, Hilti (corded and cordless), Metabo (corded) and Festool (corded yet brushless) also make similar grinders. Not all are similar nor priced the same but ultimately do the same things. The Festool even has a disc for grinding wood. After all my research, I'm leaning towards the Bosch because the Hilti (light but only 1300 watts) don't do a 240 volt version in my country (they do elsewhere) and because the Bosch is light and is 1500 watts - the Festool is almost 4 kg and 2.5 times the price. The Metabo is interesting at 1900 watts and can turn into a conventional grinder which puts me off a little as I'd prefer something purpose built. If you are in the market for a new angle grinder to replace that Makita, check out Fein's latest 1500 watt corded brushless. Recently released, it looks like an incredible machine. It's not cheap but it will probably outlast both our ages. Also, for what it's worth, you can get a pre-separator for dust for your vacuum and / or get a vacuum that cleans it's filter by electromagnetic pulse such as the Starmix iPulse M or H class. Festool also have something similar but were a little late to the party.

Did you looked at the Metabo RSEV or Diamapro hand grinders? Also, you’re spot on about the large equipment power sources, but the other issue is the tooling costs, which can become incredibly expensive and not all rental companies have a very transparent system for gauging The wear you put on their‘s, and some of them even say you have to buy your own, which doesn’t make a heck of a lot of sense.

Great review. How big of an area did you grind? How long did it take?

A few thousand square feet if I remember correctly. It took likely around 10-15 hours. I had to move a lot of storage. If you want to hustle, you can move right along. Quality vs. quantity type of situation

Do you know if they make a bigger version of this grinder? I'm about to be tearing up around 400 sq ft of tile and I'm pairing it up with the 14 gallon Bosch dust extractor vacuum but this grinder looks really small. Do you think this grinder will be able to handle the job?

This grinder will definitely handle 400 Sq/ft. I wouldn't go larger than this size for hand grinding concrete. If you were talking about a few thousand square feet, I believe they make wheeled commercial sized units (big $$). Take your time, keep the unit flat, and get yourself a good set of knee pads.

Do you know the replacement cup wheel for this tool?

I know it's 5". I would just take the wheel off, bring it to Lowes and try to match the cup depth with what they have. Not much info on Boshes website about replacement wheels.
