Bosch E11 error code diagnosis and repair

The E11 code is caused by an issue with the thermostat inside the machine. To diagnose this error we need to first remove the front panels and check that the thermostat is connected properly and if you have a multimeter you can check the resistance.

Hi Scott, thanks for the video. I have a multimeter, but I'm not an electrician. Exactly where do you advise to place the probes to check the resistance of the thermostat or heating elemant?

do you know maby the voltages from pcb to thermostat ? because in my case i think the problem is on pcb circuit and take the error 11 the wash of dish has finish

I originally had error code e15. I opened the dishwasher to discover a big rats nest. I removed the nest and noticed the floating disc was destroyed. I removed the pieces and e15 went away and the dishwasher now runs. I covered any chewed wires with electrical tape but now at the end of the cycle I get e11. Could that be because the disc is missing now? If it’s simply that I plan to order a replacement disc. But if it’s more I’m not sure if I’ll be able to fix it myself.

Hi Scott, you might help maybe. I had e09 error first- swapped heater/pump and now it showed sp11, which should be thermostat. So replaced it and it still shows e11... any ideas of where to "dig" further?

Have you checked the wiring from the thermostat to the control board? I would unplug it from the board and make sure you get the same readings across the thermostat that you get from directly probing the thermostat itself. Otherwise it's looking like an issue on the main control board

Hey Scott, there is one coming up on the E23 E24 and E25 codes which may help you out. In the mean time, if you follow this video all the way up until about 5:30 it is basically the same. Once you have the front covers removed you can check the drain pump itself if you have a multimeter handy, mine measured around 90ohms across the pins on the pump itself. The drain pump should be at the front of the machine, again if you check this video you can see it once the bottom cover is removed - it is the white box just right of centre, mine has purple wires running to it. Check these wires for any damage and unplug the pump to check the resistance. I will prioritise the E23-E25 video so it should be out in the next 24hrs. Cheers
