The main drive bearings are 609zz (top) and 6002zz (bottom) - also available for less than 5 bucks. These are easy to replace, because they are housed in plastic, use a socket to punch out.
How on earth do you lunch out the top one? I removed the c clip but the shaft seems jammed inside so the bearing can only come out upwards? I can’t get anything on it.
Hello guy in the video from 4 years ago, I have the exact same E-Motor from a WOLF Garden mower (well, I took it off someone's hands for free to try and repair it). So it simply just seized up without jamming the blade in tall grass or so? Interesting. I will try to get it repaired with a new ball bearing. Actually both main bearings on the belt system seem to turn pretty sluggish. But good to know it's doable.
Thanks for uploading. I've got a dead Rotak at the moment, so far watching various repair vids it seems it could be switch, switch lever / spring, disconnected wires, belt or motor bearing. Will check them all out soon.
Hmmm a dislike ???!! Why ?? I was just sharing my experience , ok not a technical breakdown but an explanation, also to show it's not so hard to strip down and rebuild one of these..
Hi yes 😁, really I should have filmed the guy changing the bearing 🤔 But it was really to show the issue and how easy it was the remove/replace the motor ..👍
Just watched your video, thanks for doing it I found it most helpful. A word of ⚠️ if you generally cut your grass without wearing shoes, I’d think again if I were you. One of my best mates lost two toes, his big toe and the one next to it. He was using a flymo though, maybe that makes a difference.

Hi Yes I see what you mean,the safety switch is playing up now, the part when you push the button then press another button. I will have a look when it gets worse, but yes I am a bit surprised as Bosch years ago was a trustworthy brand, I feel this is no longer the case.
Our house was built in 74 and still has the oringal Bosch oven, still works, in the last 15 years my parents have gone through 3 Bosch ovens and now switched to an Ikea. It’s now no better than anyone else, but costs a lot more. For mowers I’m now going for cheapo cheapo and hope it lasts the warranty, or collect them for free and store them until required. Good news is the grass box and handle seem to be worth a decent amount on eBay!
@@wollywotsit I totally agree with you, I bought a cheapo electric lawnmower from B&Q in 2001 made by Champion, and it is still going strong. To add to your comment on white goods, here in Turkey you can buy any make you wish however there is always a Turkish equivalent that works out a bit cheaper, I bought a black glass fronted fridge freezer made by Beko, it was easily 30% cheaper than the Bosch and have to say the quality is superb..
Was the motor not powering up at all ? I just had mine checked out , It won’t power up. I was told that the problem was with the motor. Appreciate any help. Thanks
Hi, the mower was working fine then deteriorated very quickly, it didn't blow a fuse, which surprised me, but when unplugged and laid on its side when I tried to move the blades they were jammed. When I removed the motor there was very little if any movement. I should have shown the procedure for bearing change but that segment(and probably the most relavent ) clip was corrupt. There is a comment in this section that explains the procedure . Cheers 👍
@@myturkishlife1777 Thanks. My Lawnmower wouldn’t power up. I took it to local lawnmower repair shop. They said. All switches we’re working. But the problem was with the motor. He let me know, before it started to get to expensive to fix. I was wandering after watching your video, if it was something I could have a go at myself. Thanks
@@grahamjohnston3899 if the motor turns by hand it could be brushes, there are many RU-vid video's on how to test motor windings too. It could be a brush, not necessarily worn out but stuck .. so may need cleaning up. If you are a hands on type then have a look .. Cheers 👍
