Ha ha... had watched the other two videos you refer to and set about what appeared a relatively simple task. From watching the other videos I 'knew' there were was only six screws to get the covers off. Of course I couldn't remove it and nearly destroyed the mower trying. After three hours struggling I decided I'd call Bosch tomorrow but in the meantime I called for help and a fresh pair of eyes. My father in law found the seventh screw almost immediately, covered in grass like the others but there it was. I came across your video just moments later. Too late to have been useful but reassuring for my confidence knowing somebody else had struggled. Thanks for posting.

Very helpful. Like yours, my screws were all extremely tough, rusted and difficult to remove and your discovery of the final screw was essential to the task which I would probably have abandoned if I had not found this video. Congratulations on an excellent video.

After 3 to 4 years the Rotak 43 Li is so filled up whith old grass that the innlet for motor cooling is blocked. The motor will be overheated and after few meters in use the thermal fuse will stop the lawnmower. In order to avoid this- clean the mower. BUT you have to remove the shield. After I had removed 6 screws I was still unable to get the shield off. But thanks to this video I found the secret seventh. Thx a lot Alan.

@@Ayjay2785 Children are in the bed and it took me approx one hour for complete dismantling. My 2011 looks a bit different internally but the hidden screw were at the same position. Screw heads took me some time for cleaning BUT now i just have to order the spare part. 😁😁😁 Thanks a lot, Alan👍👍👍

Very helpful video, I had almost given up before watching this. I had the exact same problem with the hidden screw needing to be extracted too. Mine was the electrical mower. Thanks 👍

(If the screws are rusted, spraying them with rust remover or appliance care products (e.g. WD40, Bosch care products) is helpful. Allow to take effect for a few minutes.) Thank you.

Thanks Alan very useful and clear video, easily completed all the steps except trying to lift off the cover, the 2 tabs at the back seem to be intent on holding onto their 'orey', yours just appeared to lift off in one easy movement, any tips? Thanks Daryl

Very helpful on the corded one I’ve just found you need to take the cradle off that’s on the motor ,you have to pull both terminals off and the bearing dust cover then the whole cover comes off easy .the screws were a pain especially the front 2 .. how deep are they and if you haven’t got the right pozidrive will just spin and round the screw head .😤😤😤

Thank you so much for this. I was trying for ages to try get the green cover off a friends Rotak 43 LI-2 Ergoflex. Information about the whereabouts of the screw hidden in the middle was exactly what I needed! It’s a different design mower but that ******* screw was in exactly the same hidden place as on your mower. They don’t make it easy do they?

I no longer have this size mower I'm afraid, (I managed to find a 37” model,) so I'm sorry, I can't check it out. Perhaps a silly question, but have you removed all 7 screws? If so, then it should just be a matter of “gently-gently," rather than the "brute force & ignorance" method, which could damage the cover. Ayjay

Well, initially, I thought this was going to be both our lucky days! But it was not to be I'm afraid. I bought my 43i for £15 off eBay, which had been advertised as a 36i. It was in working order OTHER THAN THIS LINKAGE, so the idea was to replace that and keep it for any spares - motor, battery, for a 36i that I'd recently bought. It wasn't until I got it home that I discovered it was a 43i! Anyway, I managed to buy a linkage off eBay at the time for around £18, but pretty much destroyed the machine, trying to find this b*%@*y hidden screw, so I tried to sell the inkage on eBay,. Having had no takers, I put it in the rafters in my Garage, but now find that I must have finally thrown it away a few years ago, when I "tidied up" my Garage - Sorry! I don't think Bosch make the battery machines any more and having looked on eBay, it appears that they've changed the design of this part anyway. However - could I suggest that the following link might be your best option, depending on where you live, of course - BUT MAKE. SURE. IT'S THE CORRECT. SIZE! Good luck! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325225231564?hash=item4bb8ef34cc:g:JycAAOSwlsFio2u-

Whoops - sorry! Just trying to be helpful Simon - but yes, I am aware I suffer from verbal diarrhoea and waffle on! At 76 it's a bit late to change, I'm afraid!

Now put the linkage back not waffle on about your screws

Yes ... I’ve taken the mower apart and now can’t get it back together, if I’d known the video didn’t show you how to do this or how difficult it was to reassemble I wouldn’t have bothered with this at all. I’ll have to take the disassembled mower to a mower specialist as I’m getting nowhere
